Mr. JonKWilliams,
Unless you have spent time in combat then I suggest that you refrain from passing judgment on Soldiers in Iraq and around the world. As a member of the unit in the story and a veteran of a previous combat tour in Iraq, let me explain that the Infantrymen you are referring to are professionals who complete their Nation''s goals regardless of their personal feelings or political inclination. The level of sacrifice and selfless service exhibited by these Soldiers on a daily basis is something that you could never comprehend nor would I expect a person like you to. I suggest that if you disagree with the strategic goals of the United States or the manner in which they are pursued than I suggest that you become engaged in the political process. What have you done for your Country lately?
Sincerly,
CPT Johnathan Martin

It just amazes me how a passivist will say they don''t want to argue about right and wrong but then puts out antagonistic statements provoking argument.
What kind of idiot doesn''t see that today''s technology is meant to pinpoint and remove only those committing acts of war - on the ground they are hard to pinpoint since they refuse to identify themselves with a uniform and hide behind innocent civilians.
My son was in this battle. This wall was put up with human initiative and sweat. Our military are currently walking the streets of Sadr alongside of Iraqi military who want to have their country back from radicals who have controlled it for far too long.
Read some history of radical Islam and spend some time understanding them. Maybe read a little history of Hitler. Then ask yourself - could there maybe be people in this world willing to kill others in the name of religion?

It sure sounds like a VERY SMART war was fought by the U. S. to win Sadr City, not withstanding the two faced Iraqi Prime Minister, Al Maliki. OsiSpeaks.com

A victory in tactics more than technology.

Information is the key in all tactics; business as well as military.

The key is now to control the situation long eneough to actually affect culture. Great job!!!!

This is amazing. It shows how truly far we''ve come with military technology. Hopefully it can be declassified enough to be used for civilian use - like using the Predator for dropping tear gas into a dangerous crack house. Allowing minimal to no casualties vs. the current ''open fire'' sytem.

As a soldier of Charlie Company, who participated and was injured from RPG and Mortar attacks during the fighting in and around Sadr City from March through May 2008, it is great to hear such a great story of the accomplishments we were able to attain and the heroic efforts that the men of C Company put forth have not gone unnoticed.
