Sctt Pelley again does a hachet job on the military.

If the military says that they saw men with AK-47''s come out of a builiding from which a rocket was fired they have every right to attack that building.

Scott Pelley does a dis-service to the long and storied reputataion of 60 Minutes with every story he does.

My faith in your unbiased reporting has been shaken.

Mr. Pelley needs to go.

No disrespect to your son or any other service members, but I hope you do go to one of the poles to vote. Any one who feels that this is a necessary evil scares me.

My son spent 10 months in Afghanistan with the US Military and just left in August 2008. I agree that the story of the child is tragic, but the Taliban does use villages and villagers to hideout, and if they do not go along with what the Taliban wants, the Taliban will kill the villagers. You should get your story straight CBS News. This is what happens during war; so make sure that you go to the poles in November and vote.

I try not to watch any interview by Scott Pelley whenever I can because of his accusatory style, especially when covering a military subject. This one on Afghanistan is no different. If you cannot or will not get rid of him please put him on other subjects where he is not demeaning our military.

This report was another example of the total lack of journalistic integrity that has infected the media.

What happened to the child is certainly tragic, and undoubtedly there are other similar examples. However the report fails to mention the other side of the issue. Anyone see the part of the report about the number of US soldiers that were killed and wounded as a result of following these rules of engagement?

Read Marcus Luttrell''s Lone Survivor. He specifically writes about the consequences of the rules of engagement.

Apparently 60 Minutes preferred not to report the full story.

"in war where we are being attacked"?, glwhite2 says. No one in Iraq attacked us, until Bush made war on them. 10 people in one family killed, by 2 one-ton bombs. Aiming for 1 bad guy who wasn''t there. Did you see that AF center, somewhere in the Persian Gulf? In a Arab or Muslim country? Remind you of the NORAD underground complex in Colorado? Which was completely useless on 9-11. Why are we continuing to spend money on an AF that either doesn''t work, or that is now is allowed to kill 30 civilians for each high value target? But when they''re wrong, about where the high value target it, which they often are, the civilians get killed anyway, the homes destroyed. This is what "a nation under God" does?

Why not follow up and say that the Afghan prime minister is gone now and settling in the U.S. - Arizona actually. How''d that happen? Bush needs to go and never again should we be subject to his kind of government. Never.

It''s a difficult situation for our military to be placed in. However we all have to be careful. Every military mistake sows the seeds for future terrorists. Hopefully the lessons will be learned and we''ll react more judiciously in the future.

scott pelly reports as in the questioning of the young marine accused of killing civilians bothers me by infering that we are butchers.he needs to realize that in war where we are being attact by people who use civilians to hide behind and who will kill us at the drop of a hat and put himself in their position be for berating our brave troops
