Gridlock King: R/R plan to shaft the nation: More tax giveaways to the Romney-like millionaires. They, not the Dems, cause the gridlock in congress. There aren't sufficient funds in Defense, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, Education, SEC, Post Office and the pockets of the people to balance the budget. Nation's two-war expense: $5-trillion, the trade imbalance $600/year, the Debt $15-trillion, budget deficit, one trillion plus. Someone's got to put up the difference: The people can't do it alone; they've lost $7-trillion in equity in the home bubble and bust and pay more than double the Romney-likes' rate.

Cantor is a liar. He is a coward and a very weak person. He is trying to play tough to give off the exact opposite of what he really is, a weakling. He is not even honest with himself. The verb that is missing in his vocabulary is to SERVE. He is not serving his country or the people. He is driven by his own agenda and all he is looking to do is change things to his liking. These are ONLY the changes he wants. But he does not want to serve the whole nation. A statesman reaches out to the other side and finds the common denominator. He is neither a statesman nor a diplomat. This is why he hates compromise. He has a lot in common with another weak individual, Adolf Hitler. Both did not want to serve the whole country. Instead they want to dismantle the government to achieve their own version of reality. God help us! How can someone rail so much against the government to be elected only to cut it off at the knees. He really is a tragic figure. Where was he when Bush went on his spending spree of 2 wars, tax cuts and medicare part D.....none of which was paid for! All of it was put on the bill and added to the deficit. So he has a selective memory too.
When he is faced with the truth and facts like Reagan increased taxes, his cognitive dissonance kicks in and he rejects it because it does not fit in with his belief system. He is not interested in the truth. Christ said in the Bible, you will recognize a tree by its fruit, meaning a good tree will produce healthy fruit. His fruit is rotten because the tree is diseased, he is not interested in the truth. You probably think I am some wacko Democrat but I am a registered Republican and there are many of us who are not being heard nor served. But he needs to serve the Democrats too because he represents all. The government needs to serve all the people. It is not like a private company that has clients who can walk away if they are not happy.

Eric Cantor is a control freak pipsqueak, a Mr. Hyde and a jackal all about climbing the ladder, and that is what his family appreciates. As long was they live high on the hog, in this greed creed society and their relative position is secured, they careless about any body body else. The family sticks together and they have what the want so there are no qualms or scruples. That is precisely 90% of what this nation has become. Just uncaring, selfish, self righteous his wife, children , mother in law, etc are all bred into it. This hog wash about him as a Jew having to go to Collgate and adhere to none Jewish customs is all something that he did not have to do. It was his choice and no body forced him.

Lesley should have gone on step further to find out who his friends are and those others who attended college and did business with him. He is a more like a cunning rat, all product of conservatism of the Jewish kind. Greed creed conservative like Netanhay. Who he has recruited, to come to this country as a guest on a Visa and is part of the conservative republican team to oust President Obama at any cost. To hell with the country and the people. Netanyahu uses his state of Israel to rattle this Middle Eastern cage and war footing as Cantor is part of the same Crowd. She should have asked him about his personal pledge with to his conservative republicans about the one and only priority they is to oust Obama, at any cost and hell with the country and the people.

The man has no conviction about what happens to the people and or the country and neither does he care. Nor does his wife, who comes from the tutelage of Working in Goldman As along as he , his family is happy and , what they have far above others, he is up high that social ladder and the conservative republicans were instrumental in getting him there. That is what counts.

He took Lesley Stahl home to meet his Jewish family because Lesley is Jewish herself. Not that she will let that get in the way of her objectivity.

i didn't feel very good about kantor's demeanor nor his responses, which seemed pretty evasive to me. in fact, i'm surprised he consented to the interview, and i guess his 'press secretary' was too.

perhaps this is a reason kantor is out-of-touch with what's happening in the country: he's listening to his advisers' uninformed and dead-wrong advice, thanks to the show's immediate video of the 'great leader's' direct rebuttal of kantor's off-screen stooge.

today's republicans are not only far astray from reagan's hopes for the country, they are even farther away from lincoln's. this is not the party of either one.

I found the 60 Minutes Story about Eric Cantor to be enlightening and maddening. It is unfortunate that our country is in the grips of two political groups that both appear to embrace and follow the arrogance and negative leadership that in my opinion is exhibited Mr. Cantor and his Commander in Chief. The two sides can point fingers back and forth all they want, but the bottom line is that our incumbents have failed in their duty to get the job done for the American people. I hope that the voting public let them know how they feel about it in next November's election.

Do away with "tax breaks" for corporate jets? How about doing away with the tax breaks for lavish congressional offices like Mr. Cantor's, and insisting that our congressmen and senators live by the same laws as the rest of us?

Out of one end he says "Let's make sure we're revenue neutral." Out of the other end he says "The goal is to reduce the deficit." That is the very definition of cognitive dissonance, if he actually believes it — which I doubt. If he doesn't believe it then he's just another Repiglican liar.

This man has a severe character flaw. America need to vote their circumstances. When America votes the Republicans out and the Democrats are in, they need to learn "How to follow the Leader". Cantor and his hidden racist friends need to respect The President, period. Cantor, you and your others need to go!

Eric Cantor and the rest of the House Republicans have only two goals: the first and foremost is to get rid of President Obama (and in the past four years they have proven this by not passing a single bill that the President has put forward on behalf of the middle class, even when the idea may have come from their side or the bill included amendments they wanted) and goal 2 is to make sure that corporations and the uber-wealthy don't have to pay their fair share of taxes.

In fact, they ensure the average corporation will pay less than the average wage earner making 25,000 dollars a year. People, wake up and let's get back the House (democrats) in 2012. Hopefully, if we can get a supermajority we can pass legislation that eliminates or amends the filibuster so the GOP can't continously block good legislation on jobs, the environment, education and single payer healthcare. I'd like to see anyone who wants to filibuster have to take the floor and keep talking till their all talked out (much like Jimmy Stewart)..without assistance or a bathroom break :-) and then take an up and down vote at the end of it. You'd never see a filibuster again!
