Let me get this straight, the surge is working because of a secret operation, so Bob Woodward is going to sell the secret to the public, friends as well as enemies. CBS and 60 minutes are going to provide the distribution system for the transmission of these national secrets. I guess it is a win-win for you people, you get to disclose top secret operations, putting soldiers'' lives at risk, undermine National security and help destroy the success the surge has acheived AND sell advertising!!! Once again, CBS under the guise of freedom of the press chooses a self serving adgenda without regard for our nation or human life. You people make me sick and I am ashamed to call you fellow Americans.

When is the McCain or Palin puff piece interview like you did for Obama and Biden? Have you been Obamatized and are you still "Rather" biased?

60 mins is a joke along with CBS. You are so dishonest. It amazes me what you report, but since you live in a bubble of like minded people, your just delusional. I have not watched 60 min in yrs and have no intention to watch anytime soon. Any anti-Bush or Republican book is a go, anti_ Democrat no need to apply. Dan Rather would be proud. I mean is proud.

CBS....How low will your ratings have to go before you people get it? I am a non-partisan not looking for a fight, but your bias is blatently obvious against Republicans. You are losing what little credibility you had left. Who is the idiot running the show over there? I am going to check with my broker to be sure I don''t own any shares of CBS or any parent company.

What a shock --- 60 Minutes pimping another negative book about George Bush. wonder when we will get to hear from the author who has the #1 bestseller on the NY Times list who has a book out about Obama or perhaps David Fredosso who also has a very well researched book on Obama?

The pro-Democrat BIAS at 60 Minutes is virtually "preternatural." I stopped watching 60 Minutes during the 2004 election cycle, when the program became the Democrat "Book of the Month" club, with one author after another trashing the Bush Admin, almost weekly.

Someone asks, when will they have the McCain-Palin interview? It will happen when frogs grow wings and no longer bump their butts when they jump.

I will call 60 Minutes what it is, what it has become - an utterly CORRUPT outfit - a gang of shills for one political party.

So disgusting.

I had forgotten that 60 Minutes did their puff piece with Obama/Biden right after their convention. did anyone even think the 60 MInutes would do a similar piece on the Republican ticket? I won''t hold my breath waiting for it. CBS is almost as disgraceful a network as MSNBC.

What a pathetic bunch. Fortunately, the new McCain-Palin administration will have you up on treason charges as this is wartime and the information you are divulging is endangering our country and our armed forces overseas.
As for my Sunday evening, I''ll be extending my BBQ with roasted marshmallows decorated as CBS "news" broadcasters.

Leave it to CBS to finish "bastardizing" THE NEWS!

Did CBS not want the "surge" to be sucessful? or did CBS prefer more soldiers die because of its lack of integrity?

P.S. Woodward, this is getting old. The timing and

What part of secret don''t you understand. Despite your global postion in the news market you should be Americans first. Bob''s exposure of Nixon may have been groundbreaking when I was a getting out of the Navy during the Vietnam era but reporting on todays secret ops is irresponsible and he deserves a seat next to Hanoi Jane Fonda in the treason Hall of Fame. Shame on him and CBS for making this public.

its sad that people such as woodward puts his need for personal ego and power- (i don''t think for one minute its about money) above his country. when you are at war one should always weigh if what they say would put our soldiers in harm way, time and again the liberals have put their need for power first and our soldiers last. THATS THE DIFFERENCE between a liberal and conservative.. IN WWII the saying was "loose lips sink ships" Traiters are alive and well.. what did Woodward think would be reaction of Iraq to their being "spyed" on- anything to derail America winning in Iraq and prove them wrong.

I think it''s about time someone did a news story on Woodward. An aging, bitter man tries desperately to recapture the glory of his younger self by stirring the hornet''s nest weeks before a Presidential election. A once-glorious news organization which has completely squandered its good name tries to do the same. To me, the whole thing is like an old 1960''s activist standing on the street corner in a ripped up tie-dye shirt yelling at the top of his lungs at passing cars. He thinks he''s relevant but unaware that everyone is ignoring him and laughing at him. Woodward and CBS''s time has come and gone.

So what if there is a secret and lethal special ops program in Iraq? What are they doing? Oh yeah, KILLING AL-QUEDA leadership, the same ones that brought us the thirteen folks that hurt us so deeply on 11 Sept 01. The ones who seriously thought that they could bring us to our knees and bow to their will. Seems to me, someone else tried that tactic in 1941, it failed. But some of us in this country have forgoteen what those b***ards have done to us. If we back away, it is a matter of time. I am all for whatever it takes to ensure these "people" (I use term lightly) never rise again.

Hello???? Anyone at CBS paying attention to the posts? If you weren''t so bullheaded about "getting" the conservatives, Republicans, and President Bush, you would realize that you are slowly committing network suicide. I for one will not watch any CBS shows, and I will be contacting all of the advertisers who pay for 60 minutes to tell them why I will not use their product. If you think you can bring "change" through your one-sided reporting, so can I!

Couric is worst than most with her pitifull defense of Hillary and hypocritical attacks on Palin. Woodward is a traitor and should be prosecuted. The networks are complicit traitors as well. Our founding fathers would be so dissapointed to know that the 1st amendment has died. The media which used to report news and events in a fair and unbiased manner has become a one sided propaganda machine of the DNC. My hope is that one day prison terms will be handed out to those who have hijacked the airwaves and newspapers of this nation in their blatent and now undisguised attempt to subvert the most cherished right we have as Americans, the voting process. Americans do recognize what has been done and I truly hope HONESTY, INTEGRETY, and FAIRNESS can one day be a part of a once honored profession again.

Well here you go again. I have finally decided that we are no longer to view any of the CBS shows and I like others have decided that buying anything from your sponsors makes no sense. I love how all you conservatives now define anyone who questions our government and our democratic process and doesn''t fall in line with Bushies and the Republicans as "liberal-biased". But I guess if you''re a brain-dead clone, you don''t have to bother yourself with any kind of self-analysis or examination of those running our country and are free to zone out to funner stuff like American Idol, Dancing with the Stars and Fox News.

This is great! Very secret information that is making our troops successful and you are sharing this with all that can tune in and our enemies as well...awesome, I can''t tell you how it makes me feel to know that there is a news network that will air anything that comes their way without regard to what the repercussions might be to our country or our troops. I have to comend your editorial policy, better yet could I have a list of your sponsors so I can tell them how excited I am about this information you are willing to share, I know that your sponsors are important to make up the difference in your budget that the DNC doesn''t take care of...the way I figure it as long as you guys can stay on the air, the u.s. military doesn''t have to worry about attacks from abroad...CBS is doing a great job destroying the country from within. Anyway, how about that list, I have some calls I need to make.

johnsonotis,
Disagreeing with the "Bushies" is fine. What is not fine is giving away national secrets in our war on terror. What is not fine is "60 Minutes" hyping every book they can get their hands on the disparages the "Bushies", yet doesn''t give the same courtesy to anyone who writes an anti-Obama or anti-Democrat book. What is not fine is having fluff interviews on "60 Minutes" with the Obamas and Joe Biden, and not giving equal coverage to the McCain''s (Cindy has just as equally a compelling lifestory as does Michelle Obama) and Sarah Palin. The obvious bias at CBS and especially on 60 Minutes is so obvious, it''s laughable when a liberal tries to deny it.

Haven''t watched 60 minutes since 2004. Do not watch any news shows on cbs. There are better sources of news and entertainment on TV than CBS. Trying to compete with nbc for the basement ratings? I think that we should bring back the firing squad for people that write books like this, and networks that give them air time.

How sad that the previous commitment to letting political differences end at our borders has been lost to those seeking fame and fortune by leaking, writing, and assuming they know all. Shame on everyone who informed Woodward from their perspective and assumed to have all the information! No wonder terrorists win!

Big deal. It''s not like they are giving away anything other than saying that special ops were successful. What the heck. Should we not expect them to be successful? American men and women train for years and use billions of tax dollars to fly equipment around the whole world into a desert with mostly uneducated holy fighters with AK47s and self-made cellphone bombs. Telling that special ops were successful was not exactly a surprise nor a secret. Any movie is more revealing. And by the way: even movies with very realistic military content get shipped in all corners of the world. It''s the 21st century - everybody can know everything!

Since when did it become so overwhelmingly important to disclose everything these reporters find out that could possibly endanger our troops abroad? I am beginning to believe that we may never get back to balanced reporting that is fair to our military. Without these brave military ones, we wouldn''t be reading one word of what Woodward would like to have in print about anything. So here is Woodward spouting out things about the military that we really don''t need to know. I am not impressed and really could care less about depending on CBS, NBC, or ABC for any of the news. I am through with all three! And their sponsors.

Come on guys, the leftists and the leftist media would tell the whole world any and all the United States secrets if they could gain access. Examples like this CBS story and the rest of the Leftists just confirm the facts.

Remember when the so called United States media wanted to be fair and not take sides in in all the war on Terrorism? I remember the Leftist media thought they had an obligation to world of terrorists.

Do not fool yourself to believe the Leftist media and these loonie left hate America crowd wish for the United States to rid the world of these terrorists.

The lestists and the terrorists seem to have a mutual agenda, the leftists wish to blame and point thier little stinky fingers at the United States, while claiming "we" (not including them) deserve the results of the terrrorist actions. To top this folley off the leftists "claim" to support the troops.

Wait till these leftists & the Leftist media grow a "October" surprise, much like Dan Rather attempted, even though he knew his sources were total lies.
If one has noticed, the Leftists, will say anything, do anything and "GROW" thier lies when required.

Wait for it.

Remember the like of Bob Woodward have to sell books and keep the "Bob Woodward " franchise alive by printing as much as he can with little regard to the saftey of the United States. The leftists make the rules others have to follow the rules. The only thing I am not totally surprised with is the B.W. did not
give phot copies of the secret methods to Iran, and the rest of the terrorist world.

Maybe next time B.W. will if his Professional profile with the leftists is lacking

I''m always fascinated by the Republicans awe with government power, yet they curse the ''liberals'' for it all day. Just put your faith in ''God, country, and the CIA'' and all will be well is the slogan. Would you suggest we develop ''secret police'' to watch over us ''leftists'', so we can all sit home peacefully watching football and NASCAR ? C''mon fellow Americans, would you really believe it''s Top Secret if it''s on TV ? Having held a TS clearance as well, I assure you Mr. Woodward knows nothing of any grave consequence to our national security. Sure, Woodward has a big ego, but he''s just one of many talking heads. One has to remember Leftists like to think they are "progressive", seems silly to many that these leftists must try to hide the fact that they are not for America, the troops or any thing resembling a free and open society.

Example the hate filled yelling and stomping planned by the likes of G. Soros. Ever read much about that big time billionaire? Soros on one hand wants the leftists to rule, but he loves Wallstreet, go figure, power, money and access to more power and money is his goal.

obamma is just a small part in the Soros plan, who is going to prop up obamma, his buddies that were and are hate America Firsters? Looks like some wish to not know, or forget about obammas hate America friends, they are even on video telling of the hate they have for America, and one of these folks is "very" close to obamma.

You gotta love it when a national candidate has know links to terrorists and hate American firsters, ONLY in America.

For CBS to "claim" they not biased seems to deny the simple fact, that all the videos they have on this site none have any remotley neutral direction for anything doing with Mcain, Bush or the American MILitary. Once every now and then CBS is "progressive" enough to mention a postive fact about America and the War on Terrorism.

Cut and run is the mantra of not only the LEFTISTS, but the leftists media.
