Facebook starts trading, shoots up in first minute

(CBS News) Facebook (FB) joined the Nasdaq Stock Market Friday and shot up to $43 within the first minute of trading.

The social network set the price for its initial public offering (IPO) at $38 Thursday after markets closed. The price is currently hovering around $40, but it may change throughout the day.

Report: 37 billion online videos viewed in April

(CNET) How much online video did you watch last month?

Across the U.S., 181 million Internet users tracked by ComScore caught a total of 37 billion videos in April. That means 84.5 percent of the U.S. Internet audience viewed an online video, and the average person spent 21.8 hours doing so for the month.

Facebook grows to 901 million users

(CBS News) Facebook updated figures for its S-1 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). New information about the social network's purchase of Instagram and AOL patents were also revealed.

The social network now reports 901 million monthly active users, 300 million photos uploaded per day and 125 billion friendships. The filing also shows that 488 million people access Facebook via mobile products.
