I disagree with the assumption farmers need no college education. Farmers might well benefit from college education. My father had taught the upper grades of a two-room country school seven years when he decided he preferred the independence of farming. His eduction enriched his life. Later in life some referred to him as the farmer philosopher. On a practical level many farmers have benefited from short (or even four-year degree) courses in agriculture from Michigan State and similar institutions.

Sent my those on vacation in DC from South Dakota

I hope that you are still in Washington and ready to work on the Tax Breaks and Medicare payments, and Unemployment issues for more than 2 months. Any Senator or representatives that needs a month Christmas Break does not need to be reelected. I am middle income between $50,000 and $100,000 per year family income. With social Security move to insolvency I would have rather not received the tax cut to social security as this is needed to be put back in a "lock box that you can not touch. Had this been done years ago we would not be in the problems we are currently in. I was glad that Sadam, and Kim Jung are gone however this country is moving towards a dictator ship when 40 men in DC can decide the fate of the country. This nation was founded on "Of the People, By the People, and For the People", not "Of 40, BY 40, For 40". I have voted for both sides of the isle and feel that the isle should be removed and our senators and representatives should be faced to sit in a circle, which represents the direction that you all seem to be going. Maybe we should play musical chairs and let the last man or woman standing leave until all of you are gone. I am no longer a democrat or republican but want to start a new party called "NO INCUMBENTS" WITH A 6 YEAR TIME LIMIT" FOR BOTH HOUSES. Joe the plumber if he has common sense is one of the people who would get my vote.

I am nor so much responding to this item but, generally, want to express my appreciation of the fact that your announcement today was that Face the Nation will expand to a one hour show and keep the same format. I was worried that you might be announcing your retirement. As long as you can do it, you are tops in your role and business. Please stick with it. We watch every Sunday. Thank you for your integrity and style. You hold guests accountable while giving them the respect that they deserve. It is a difficult balance. You are the best!

It was an extremely unprofessional interview of Ron Paul this morning. I would expect more from a newsman like Schieffer. Shame on you. It only adds credence to the claim that Ron Paul is treated very poorly by the press. You have lost a viewer Schieffer because of obvious bias. I want my news to be presented without manipulation by the interviewer.

We just watched Face the Nation's Bob Shieffer interview Ron Paul. He was rude and condescending. After Ron Paul answered specific questions, he then inaccurately paraphrased what Ron Paul had just said adding his own editorial bias. He was manipulating Ron Paul's words. A very disappointing interview. It was very clear that he does not care for Ron Paul. We have noticed in several other interviews that he has conducted, that he often editorializing. We are not interested in his opinion, we are interested in the opinion of the person he is interviewing.

Face the Nation's Bob Schieffer disgraceful performance this morning with his personal attack on his guest Herman Cain certainly shows his disrespect for fair journalism and his bias against Republicans. CBS, as liberal as they obviously are should not permit such shameful presentations.
It has certainly destroyed any credibility for Mr. Schieffer, the program and CBS itself.

Bravo to Bob Schieffer for challenging Herman Cain in a thoughtful and direct way. He should be a model to all reporters who rarely, if ever, do their job!
