UPPER PITTSGROVE Twp., N.J. - The bizarre rants on Facebook led to the dead cats in a freezer.

CBS Station KYW reports that a Salem County man wrote about dying animals on his Facebook page, soliciting money for a PayPal account to help care for them.

Ian Barlow also referred to maggots, and posted pictures of dead cats.

Authorities were tipped off, and when officers from the police and the New Jersey New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals visited Barlow's home in Upper Pittsgrove Township, N.J., they discovered a disturbing scene: 15 to 20 dead cats neatly wrapped in baggies in a freezer.

Also found inside: An AR15 assault rifle and a Tech 9 semi-automatic.

Authorities also discovered Barlow, who hails from England and is in his 40s, had an expired visa. He was arrested Tuesday night on weapons charges. Animal cruelty charges are pending.

In a Facebook posting NJ-SPCA president Rick Yocum wrote that five cats were rescued, and a number of animals remain on the property and are being monitored.

Numerous cats could be seen on Thursday roaming around the house.

News of the dead animals caught people in the area off-guard.

"It is very strange. Kind of bizarre," said Ray Dawson of Franklinville, told KYW correspondent Todd Quinones.

He is an ILLEGAL ALIEN!!!!!! Of course, it would not be racially and politically correct to refer to this illegal as such.

He's a white guy, so no hurry to send him home. He is costing taxpayers a great deal of money...but he's white, so no hurry to send him home. He's inhumane and a nut, but he's a white guy, so no hurry to send him home....
