Pa. woman loses job after donating kidney to son
PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia woman says she lost her job after taking off time to donate a kidney to her son.
Claudia Rendon tells WTXF-TV she lost her job last week at an aircraft repair training company after taking time off to donate the kidney to her son, Alex.
Rendon says she was told before taking the leave absence that she might not have a job to come back to. She tells the station she took the time off anyway after signing a paper acknowledging that fact.
Rendon says she was told a replacement had been hired when she went back to Aviation Institute Of Maintenance late last week.
The company tells WTXF (http://bit.ly/o1saS3 ) it was within its rights to dismiss Rendon.
