Colin Powell undecided on 2012 choice

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell says there are some "interesting" presidential candidates for the 2012 Republican nomination - but that he's not sure yet who he'll be voting for.

Powell, who served under former President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2005, endorsed President Obama in the 2008 election. But in an appearance on CBS' "Face the Nation" on Sunday, Powell said "I haven't decided" if he'll vote for Mr. Obama this time around.

"I haven't decided who I'm going to vote for," Powell told CBS' Bob Schieffer. "Just as was the case in 2008, I am going to watch the campaign unfold."

Powell, a Republican, emphasized that he won't base his decision on party affiliation alone: "In the course of my life I have voted for Democrats, I have voted for Republicans, I have changed from one four-year cycle to another, and I've always felt it my responsibility as a citizen, to take a look at the issues, examine the candidates, and pick the person that I think is best qualified for the office of the president in that year," he said, "and not just solely on the basis of party affiliation."

Powell declined to name a Republican frontrunner in the race.

"I think there are some interesting candidates, but I don't think any one of them has really emerged into the leading position," he said. "If you follow the press and the polls, every three days it's another leader on the Republican side."

"Let's see if anybody else is going to join," he added. "We've got a long way to go."

Having "served" with the General....I know him to be a very "smart" man....but, I....don't for a minute believe his "story" that he voted for President Obamba because he thought he was the "most qualified"...no, the fact is....he is much too smart to think that a person that had never really "done" anything...was the most qualified.

Just that statement proved he already has decided to vote for Barry again. Any person with an ounce of integrity and intelligence would have said
'Hell No! I am not voting for such an incompetent person who is destroying the country I fought for my entire adult life!'

I believe Dick Chenney over Powell any day of the week !! Powell was a lousy Sec of State and he should thank his lucky stars he had Storming Norman to run Desert Storm.

Powell is so concerned about his image ...didn't take him long to get his face in front of the camera. The Big General sure does let his wifey wear the pants in the family. He is nothing but a big cry baby ....cry cry all the way to Bob Schieffer to complain !!

The way Powell reacted in the Scotter Libbey affair proves Dick Cheney is right !! Powell sat on the sidelines ....like a COWARD so Alma could be in the lefty social clubs !!

Powell doesn't know who he will vote for in 2012 ?? Give me a break, HE IS TOO ASHAMED TO ACKNOWLEDGE HE ENDORSED OBAMA !! How is that Hopey Changey working for you now, Powell ??

Powell is a BIG SELLOUT !! Walk quietly into the sunset, Powell, WE HAVE NO USE FOR YOU OR YOUR LEFT WING-NUT JOB OF A WIFE !!

Lets all try this a little more often. Vote in the people who will support and work for all the people. Not those solely motivated to do what's best for their party!!
