Osama bin Laden, the long-time figurehead of the al Qaeda terrorist network, has been buried at sea after being killed in a U.S. raid in Pakistan.

Pentagon officials said Monday that bin Laden's body was be handled in accordance with Muslim traditions, which include strict rules on burial taking place within 24 hours after death.

Sources confirmed to CBS News national security correspondent David Martin that his body was released into the sea from a U.S. Navy vessel on Monday, likely into the Indian Ocean.

Bin Laden was a Saudi national, but officials tell CBS News that the Kingdom was unwilling to have his remains repatriated.

He was killed in a U.S. raid launched early Monday in the relatively-well-heeled town of Abbottabad, near the Pakistani capital of Islamabad.

Darn. I really wanted to ask OBL if it was legal to kill all the unarmed innocent men, women, and children. I realize all those asking if the killing of OBL was legal, never asked the same questions about his victims and I guess they don't care. It does not sell news papers, as the saying goes. So, here I am wasting my time asking the questions that all the ACLUs in the world do not want to ask.

The military-industrial corporation needed to get rid of the witnesses just like they did to Saddam Hussein. This government is just like the Mafia because they are owned and run by greedy, giant corporations. It really is that simple.

If Donald Trump can not believe Osama is dead without the gory pictures, then he should understand that all the Navy Seals, helicoptor pilots and those about the carrier would all have to be into this "plot". I say with the DNA and the facial recognization, enough is enough. Let it go and move on and stop trying to hash up new stories that will go no where.

Why the concern for Islamic law when our soldiers' lives and our resources are being spent to get this guy? Americans deserve more than a "trust me" government in this after so many years..We deserved his head on a pike at the WTC site.

Ok, can someone who knows how long a DNA testing actually takes please correct me if i am wrong, BUT last time I had heard it takes upwards to around 2 weeks. Now, Our beloved government is telling us that bin Laden's DNA testing was done in LESS than 24 hours??? Come on. Now, to top that off; We have a president who has crippled our country worse than ANY other president in the history of the United States taking credit for taking out bin ladin where a war mongering president failed? So, are you telling the citizens (O, dont forget about the Illegals) of our Great country that our current CIA and president did what only 3 years ago could NOT do huh? Ok, MAYBE he is dead. Maybe he isn't. Unless I see actual footage of him getting shot in the head, as was said was what had happened to him, PLUS an autopsy by 3 independent medical examiners who have no affiliation with either Islamic governments nor the American government (that way they could not be "swayed" to lean one way or another) and who have legal immunities in all countries i will never believe it.

Two hour DNA testing had been discussed in a CNN article 2 days ago. A simple google search and your conspiracy theory is debunked instantly.

Recent DNA testing Need Only 2 Hours

It's even portable now

"The tests that have recently been developed is to check the DNA from crime suspects with DNA samples at crime scenes."

"Portable DNA testing can also be used for natural disasters such as earthquakes, to identify the victims."

It's almost too late already. It's like they needed time to create/photoshop the 'proof'.

Something tangible should have been produced immediately. Even Americans doubt the credibility of this story. Imagine what the rest of the world is thinking.
