Craigslist transaction becomes armed robbery
LOS ANGELES - Authorities say a man who hoped to buy an iPhone from a stranger he met through Craigslist was instead robbed at gunpoint.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Michael Martinez says the man arranged via the classifieds web site to pay $500 for the phone.
He met the seller behind a Carl's Jr. restaurant in unincorporated Temple City Saturday afternoon.
Martinez says upon meeting, the seller pulled out a semiautomatic pistol, took the victim's cash and fled on foot.
The Los Angeles Times says the victim provided a description of the suspect to investigators.
No arrests have been made.
