Top Spin 4 Preview
After a career's worth of honors, Andre Agassi is getting another one. The tennis legend will make his next-gen cover debut in 2K Czech's upcoming tennis simulation Top Spin 4.
Agassi highlights the largest roster in a tennis game to date. The 25-player roster includes current powerhouses like Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer on the men side and female stars Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki along with past legends like Ivan Lendl and Pete Sampras. Top Spin 4 also marks the first time players can pit Agassi and Sampras against one another.
As with other 2K Sports games, the development team didn't skimp on the details. Signature swings differentiate player styles - from Federer's tweener to Nadal's blistering backhand. Custom player celebrations bring players to life as does that crowd, which react accordingly to the on-court action.
Although Top Spin 3 was praised for its faithful representation of tennis, the intimidating control scheme might have frustrated newcomers to the series. 2K Sports is confident that they've alleviated any frustration without sacrificing the depth of simulation needs.
Though 2K Sports was tight-lipped on online features and other gameplay modes, there should be more revealed during their hands-on preview in the coming weeks.
Top Spin 4 is scheduled to be released March 15 on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
