Ted Williams' Mom: "God Has Answered My Prayer"

Ted Williams, the homeless man with the pitch-perfect voice found panhandling on the side of an Interstate highway ramp in Columbus, Ohio, apparently won't be homeless - or jobless for long.

He was spotted by a reporter, who made a video of Williams that went viral on YouTube, attracting three million hits.

Then, he appeared in an exclusive interview on "The Early Show" Wednesday. And he's been inundated with job offers ever since.

But his biggest wish is - to reunite with his 90-year-old mother, Julia Williams, who's back in Brooklyn, where he grew up.

And Ted flew to New York to finally see his mom again.

"Early Show" co-anchor Chris Wragge accompanied Julia on her way to LaGuardia Airport for the anticipated reunion. "I'm very proud of him. I hope that he can do good," she told Wragge.

She hadn't seen Ted in more than ten years, and was overjoyed at the thought of laying eyes on him again.

But the reunion was scuttled when another media outlet whisked Ted away.

Still, in an exclusive interview on "The Early Show" Thursday, Julia told Wragge, "It was alright" that she didn't get to see Ted at the airport. "I wanted to be there when he got off the plane," she said, "but I wasn't. But it's alright."

Williams also told Wragge, "God has answered my prayer. I prayed that I would live to see this time when he would do well."

In the Wednesday "Early Show" interview, an emotional Ted Williams said, "My mom is just really.. I.. I… I'm going to be going to New York, hopefully this afternoon, and please… I apologize if I am getting a little emotional. I haven't seen my mom in, in great deal of time. … But she doesn't believe (my good fortune now). … One of my, one of my, my biggest prayers that I … sent out was that she would live long enough for me to, you know, rebound or whatever. And I guess God kept her around, and he kept my pipes around, you know, to, to maybe just have one more shot..."

Afterwards, the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association called to offer Ted a job - and a house. The NBA"s New Jersey Nets called "The Early Show" seeking to get in touch with him. Even Hollywood came a-calling.

YouTube hits zoomed past the nine million mark, and this website's visits soared as people sought to see the Ted Williams interview.

I love how CBS News trys to play it off like they were not to blame at all for delaying the reunion between Williams and his mom. Give me a freakin' break! CBS was just as guilty as NBC was for the selfish way in which they clung to Williams and his mom and wouldn't let anyone else get near them. You guys are cold, heartless people who think you have exclusive rights to people's emotions. Shame on you! These are human beings. They're not commodities to be hoarded and sequestered in your desire to keep other news outlets from getting at the story. Karma will get you!

When someone true an inspirational comes and warms your heart, like Ted and Julie Williams, you can always bet someone equally disgraceful with put a post their hate. So many people in this world with a computer and a hateful heart.I would love to see the face of each "hater", and lets interview them and see that go viral.
As to Ted and Ms. Julie, God has blessed you. Please, see that Ted gets counseling and a manger.

Its so "easy" for anonymous haters to post their hateful comments and run off into the darkness like roaches. Let them hate. This is an amazing story of faith and redemption and I, along with many, many others are happy for him and his "second chance!"

As a reminder - this story is about Mr. Ted Williams and his mother -- it is NOT about whether or not you are a Christian. Mr. Ted Williams and his mother ARE believers so they should express their thankfulness in the way THEY believe. It has NOTHING to do with how the readers believe or not. Give this family a break and just be happy for them.

Dear Ronmah617,Thank you for your very kind words and I hope my poem does reach Mr. Williams too-I think being spiritual is the key(not everyone agrees by this of course) and I wasn't always like that but I grew in faith for a reason.
God does answer prayers and does miracles and also helps
us with guardian angels as well and the reporter was Ted Williams' earthly guardian angel that he helped via the YouTube.
I wrote this also below so I know God helps us when we need prayer and it's so very powerful-what happens to a person by God just confirms His Glory from Heaven
How a third of us believe a guardian angel is watching over us ... Dec 23, 2010 ... D.K.Milgrim-Heath on 23/12/2010 15:11:38 ... D.K.Milgrim-Heath Actor Daniel Day-Lewis's Sister Had Terrifying Car Crash And She Did Survive ...

I'm touched. I'm also confused...what,Where, when, Why, How? I'm struggling to keep afloat as my husband waits to get his retirement. Apparently with Homeland Security Laws, he is being looked at closely and unfairly because we have a name that is considered a name of interest to the American and British Authority. I ask, is this right?

Please, anyone reading this. Reply. Point us in the right direction to get our bills paid, get food, getpaid utilities, rent, and get gas for my vehicle and get auto insurance paid. I's love to go home and have food to eat. There is nothing there today. I don't get another pay check until January 15th. I pray daily and I work. Still, I am unable to make ends meet. I cry myself to sleep. I go to work daily and put on a happy face. I work all day, hungry and yet I do my job. Please contact me and let my plight go viral and someone, anyone assist us for a short period of time until we are able to get the benefits owed us for 35 years work. This is an awful way to start the New Year.
Hurt, Hungry and employed. Who will advocate for our situation? We need a helping hand.

Mrs J.M. - it may hurt your pride for a bit, but contact your local rescue mission, even church, synoguage or local place of worship. Many can give you temporary support for a day or week - grocery vouchers, gas money vouchers, etc. Even if the food was bread and cheese only, it worth it to survive now, until your legal issues are worked out. Just be legit and truthful about it and there are resources available. God bless.

I thank God for what he has done for Mr. Ted Williams...for after so many years of struggle and disappointment, NOW faith and redemption! I pray with all the fame (and fortune) that is coming to you, Mr. Williams, that as you stated - you never forget to acknowledge GOD! Without God nothing is and ever will be possible. It's not luck, it's not chance, it's DESTINY. You were destined to do this from the moment you were conceived. I'm so glad that Mother Williams has been graced with extended life to see this wonderful moment for you. May restoration come in such a powerful way to you and your entire family. Again, never forget GOD - use every moment to be a spokesperson for HIM, telling of HIS goodness, mercy and grace. Peace and Blessings my brother!

God Answered The "Man with Golden Voice" And Ted Williams Did Speak
By D.K.Milgrim-Heath?2011
God answered the "Man with Golden Voice" and Ted Williams did speak-
An absolute thrill for a New Year story that everyone wanted to seek.
As fate prevailed being spotted by a reporter that made a video-
That went absolutely viral on YouTube getting past nine million hits so!
I played this video also myself as well-
What a voice such a Godly gift that could sell.
How can you NOT SAY God doesn't answer anyone's needed prayer?
Is not Ted Williams a super blessed shining example of God's mysterious answer there?
"The Early Show" did the first exclusive on Ted Williams on 1/5/11-
An occurrence really a taste of God's love to him on earth from heaven!
Being inundated with job offers ever since his now famous interview-
With "Early Show" co-anchor Chris Wragge for 2011 his life is now on re-do.
Above all Ted's biggest wish was re-uniting with his mother a 90 year old-
Whose yearly prayers are answered knowing her child's second chance in life will unfold.
This marvelous true story just goes really to show-
God kept both mother and son around for His crowning glory we know.
Yes summing this remarkable story from homeless to sudden fame-
Never doubt a strong belief to believe miracles still happen in name.
A perfectly exquisite beautiful story for a movie or TV show that should be made-
Only time will tell of those things as Ted's voice and life the world will serenade.
Hearing Ted's voice on YouTube now-
What a velvet voice?what a velvet voice and WOW!!!!!
