Two Million Dead Fish Appear in Chesapeake Bay

The estimated two million dead fish found floating in the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland recently are not another sign of the apocalypse, but were instead probably killed by the cold weather, officials told The Baltimore Sun.

Water quality was also ruled out as a possible culprit for the mass die-off of mostly spot and some croaker fish, the Sun reports.

Spot fish are notorious for being vulnerable to the cold, and large winter kills of spot have been documented in Maryland at least twice before, a Maryland Department of the Environment spokeswoman told the Sun, with about 15 million dying in early 1976 and a smaller number in 1980.

The mass Chesapeake fish die-off joins a growing list of reports from around the globe of mysterious fish and bird deaths.

Brazilian authorities also reported recently that fishermen found several tons of dead fish, sardines mostly, near the port of Paranagua, reports the website Mediaite. Authorities there are investigating the reason for the deaths.

In New Zealand, Fisheries officials are investigating the death of hundreds of snapper near Coromandel Peninsula beaches, reports the daily New Zealand Herald. Beachgoers found the fish - many with their eyes missing - dead on the sand.

I personally think this is linked to the BP oil spill that just happened a few months ago. It has only been four months since the spill was capped. We were warned that we would have effects for months or even years. If the oil traveled mainly under water there is no telling how far the oil has reached. The spill could very likely be the cause of the strange deaths happening to birds and fish.

Part of the theory of global warming is that weather will become more extreme and variable. I expect to see these kinds of things more and more frequently. Of course the idiot corporate pawn Republicans will just deny any scientific data and claim that God has a plan.

The fish and birds are committing suicide because they know the global climate change deniers took control of the money. They believe in strong government because that is what keep the giant corporations from killing them all. Oops too late.

In 2 years there won't be one even dumb American who will admit voting for the Republicans.

Global warming, global warming, global warming. The grant-hungry "scientists" screech about global warming at the drop of a hat these days. This kind of thing happened long before man arrived on the scene to start burning everything that would ignite and it will keep on happening long after we have bred ourselves into extinction. Global warming (real or imagined, natural or manmade) has nothing to do with this. IDK, maybe the Mayans did predict the end of the world in 2012, though the experts say its only significance is that their calendar will be reset. Maybe 2012 is when the population reaches critical mass and implodes.

Yes, you have to look into prehistory for this sort of extinction event. Stick to reading the bible.

Ok, here is my theory based on my prior facebook posts & me thinking about bringing fish home from store/fair. Fish are sensitive to temp changes, we are told to place the new fish, in it's bag of water, into our aquarium to allow water temp. to change slowly. Note; birds are sensitive to changes in the magnetic field of the earth (Are some breeds hyper-sensitive?)
Therefore, maybe the tectonic plates/fault lines are now more active, creating brief hot fissures changing water temp to quickly for the fish, & the fault line activity is also affecting the magnetic field.
Also note that the Chesapeake Bay is located South of a Fault area meaning; that heated water would travel South, so it makes sense that heated water from a fissure up North, could have traveled down to the Chesapeake Bay.
