Hugh Hefner Engaged to Playmate Crystal Harris

CHICAGO - Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner says he's gotten engaged again.

Hefner said in a Twitter message early Sunday that he'd given a ring to girlfriend and Playmate Crystal Harris, saying she burst into tears.

"This is the happiest Christmas weekend in memory," he wrote.

To clear up confusion over whether the ring was simply a Christmas gift, Hefner later tweeted: "Yes, the ring I gave Crystal is an engagement ring. I didn't mean to make a mystery out of it. A very merry Christmas to all."

This would be the third marriage for the 84-year-old, star of the E! cable TV reality series "The Girls Next Door," which chronicles Hefner's life at the Playboy Mansion. He divorced Playmate Kimberly Conrad last year.

What's not to like? The 23 year old gets a huge publicity lift from marrying Hef - and probably won't have to work too hard (if you know what I mean) to keep him smiling. I mean, really: the guy is 84. She can finish that off and still have time to...whatever starlets do in the evening. If she was such a chaste woman and in danger of being corrupted/used by this randy old man then she ought to have stayed out of Playboy (as a Playmate) in the first place! But she sought the notoriety of being a sex symbol for all it was worth - a boon to her career, money in the waistband of her too-short shorts, etc. If she wants to marry a guy the age of her grandfather, that's her business. Old rich guys have been marrying young foxes since young foxes and old rich guys were invented. She's set for life; won't have to cook or clean or go to work (in the normal sense) ever again; and sex (as distasteful as we may think it is) shouldn't take more than ten minutes out of her day. What a country! Perhaps when he's gone she'll adopt an older guy as a pet ;' )

This is not really news. This a chance for a lot of people, not concerned or effected to pass judgment where none is needed. If this poppit wants to marry this old fart? Why is anyone really concerned, out side of his heirs?

It's pretty obvious, it's a way for the old fart to stay in the news.
Why all the angst? It's her business and his. Not yours or mine.

Hef and his ex have a child. He has a daughter by first wife who is the publisher of playboy.
He had five girlfriends at a time after they separated.
Hef is living the life he created years ago.
The playboy mansion, bunny clubs, ect.
It was just a business, but he did it his way.

I'm trying to understand why everyone is so "critical" of this. Hugh Hefner is not stupid...look at his wealth, and how he knows what people want. I am actually a little fascinated that people are calling his stupid on here. He certainly knows that these girlfriends need to be taken care of. If he wants to marry a young adult woman (regardless of what she wants from it), why do others judge. Two consenting adults..period...it's his money, he can do what he wants with it.

Yes he can do whatever he wants with his money and they are two consenting adults and we live in the U.S. and we can make as many comments as we all see fit. And I'm sure many parents aspire having their daughter marry an old man old enough to be their daughter's GREAT grandfather because hes got money.
