Palin Swipes at Michelle Obama Anti-Obesity Push

(CBS)  Former GOP vice presidential candidate and Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin has been criticizing Michelle Obama -- over the question of dessert.

On "The Early Show" Tuesday, CBS News Senior White House Correspondent Bill Plante reported Palin seems to love a good shot -- whether it's fired from a gun or launched verbally.

And now, Plante said, she has a regular platform from which to launch them -- her TV reality show, "Sarah Palin's Alaska."

On last Sunday's show, Palin said, "Where are the s'mores ingredients? This is in honor of Michelle Obama, who said the other day we should not have dessert."

Palin was apparently referring to this statement by the first lady, referring to her anti-obesity campaign, Let's Move. At a recent engagement, Michelle Obama said, "The problem is when things get out of balance, When dessert is practically a food group."

Plante noted, "Was Palin saying, 'Let them eat, cake'?"

Palin, Plante said, has never been at a loss for an opinion on anything, including taking a pot shot at the first lady's campaign to eat healthy.

Palin said on "The Laura Ingraham Radio Show," "Take her anti-obesity thing that she is on. She is on this kick, right. What she is telling us is she cannot trust parents to make decisions for their own children, for their own families in what we should eat. ... Just leave us alone, get off our back."

Plante added, "This is so far one-sided, and don't hold your breath for any response from the first lady. But think of the possibilities. If there were an on-air shoot-out between a possible contender for her husband's job and the first lady, that would be reality TV."

As far as the opiions of reality Sarah and some of her defenders on obesity objections goes. Piper and Bristol are pretty chunky. You can't really fault the first lady for an occasional Kobe steak when the Palins eat meat raw immediately after they shoot it. Anything.........bear, wolves or little Liberal children. If that is Christianity give me a pagan barbarian anytime.

First of all it's not true that the Palins eat raw meat! That is a lie! Yes, they are hunters but, I assure you, the meat that they eat is cooked! The Palins are not animals! They don't eat raw meat and they don't eat children, not even little liberal children IF such children exist!

Second, I ask you why is it wrong to hunt and to eat wild animals and not wrong to eat a steak? Don't you know where steaks come from? They certainly don't come from restaurants and supermarkets! They come from a cow or a bull that was once a living animal!

Palin is a crafty, clever, moderately pretty woman.
She is, unhappily, an intellectual nit.

You are funny. Seriously, why do we need social services if we don't want any interference from the government? Or why have a military, a mail service, social security or all the other government services? If the parent are too stupid then government needs to educate them.

if Sarah can criticize the First Lady then I guess I can criticize Sarah. Like, I can't wait for all her fine advice on raising children and birth control! Right Bristol?????

Whether you believe the government should or should not be helping the youth in this nation become fit, and educated on how to improve the quality of your life is your own decision to make. The fact is this nation can not support the health care cost, and something needs to be done. If not, our economy will not be able to support it self. The population is getting older even with new technology and medicine. There is only one way to reverse this problem. And that is to change the way we live in this country.

Have you noticed, Palin's mouth is disproportionally larger than her brain?

There have been so many wives of presidents that have tried to help our youth. Palin needs to grow up, everything is not all about her.

Leave Sarah alone. Just let her continue her slide into irrelevance.

Won't some qualified psychologist or psychiatrist step forward and at long last publicly diagnose this woman? -- she HAS to have a litany of compulsive disorders and psychosomethingorothers. Were Mrs. Palin to take the long form of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) test -- and the results were made public -- I believe she'd be escorted off of America's sound stages as a certified Whack Job.
