German Dad Castrates Daughter's Older Boyfriend

A German dad took matters of morality into his own hands when he sought out and castrated the 57-year-old boyfriend of his 17-year-old daughter, reports the British daily Telegraph.

Helmut Seifert, 47, an ethnic German originally from Russia, was enraged when he heard his daughter was having a relationship with the much older Phillip Genscher, the Telegraph reports.

Seifert claims to have approached police in his hometown of Bielefeld but officers said they were powerless to intervene, the Telegraph reports

"You said you couldn't stop him - so I did," Seifert said. "I saw it as my duty as a father."

Seifert, a factory worker, recruited two work colleagues, went to Genscher's house, forced the older man to take off his pants and then castrated him while fully conscious, the Telegraph reports.
"The severed testicles were taken away by the perpetrator," the police said in a statement.
The victim barely survived the incident, but did not have all his parts reattached, the Telegraph reports.

Seifert pleaded guilty and will be on trial for attempted murder next year, but has remained silent on who his accomplices were, the Telegraph reports.

I personally think that drugs were possibly involved. Maybe it's different in Germany but any young woman with a very old man in the United States is either in it for the drugs or the money or both. I could be wrong.

I'm torn on this one. I'd definitely be for it if the guy attacked and raped her, but apparently this was consensual sex. Granted the 57 year old has to be a pediphile or just a sicko, but the 17 year old must be accountable too. She's not 10 years old. What does a 17 yr old see in a guy 57.

Maybe the father should have talked to his daughter and reasoned with her that this relationship wasn't "normal," before going to the guy's house and castrating him. Both the girl and this guy are to blame here, but the father went over the top if it was consensual on his daughter's part. Unfortunately I guess, it was the only way he could see to stop this guy.

I can't believe that so many people are in favor of this so called father. That is an incredibly horrible act he committed. I mean, if the boyfriend killed his daughter or harmed her I could see someone like a father being enraged like that but it was consensual. I don't know what the laws are for dating in Germany but if the police couldn't do anything about it then it was legal. What about the daughter? She was a willing participant too. Just because she's ony 17 she's innocent in all of this? This man acted barbaric and he could have handled it differently. I think the relationship is disgusting but to almost murder someone for it? KUDOS to the father and his friends!! As the mother of two daughters I'm glad this father wasn't afraid to take this matter into his own hands since the so called police claimed they could do nothing. The real criminal here is the 57 yr old 'dating' a child. I hope this pervert learned a valuable lesson from this experience. And if not, I hope he can never use his equipment again.

What kind of 17 year old is interested in dating a 57 year old? There is a difference in taking matters into your own hands and committing murder(almost). He had to castrate the guy in order to get his child to stop dating him? I am sure if the police were to do anything they weren't going to castrate the man. If I was on the jury I would not vote to convict on an attempted murder charge. I think the prosecutor is a fool here, he's obviously hoping the guy will plea it down to assault, but I would bet the guy takes it to trial and is acquitted.

The 57 year old had no business getting involved with a 17 year old, and anyone who says otherwise is mentally ill. If they had had a child together then the 17 year old might have gotten a charge out of it for a year or so - but then she would have spent the rest of her life regretting it.

I would bet money that after Daddy is in jail and the 57 year old is out of the hospital, that daughter will have nothing to do with the 57 year old.
