Michael Vick Has Rib Cartilage Injury

Michael Vick has a rib cartilage injury, and his status is uncertain for Philadelphia's next game at San Francisco.

Eagles coach Andy Reid says Vick doesn't have any broken bones, though the cartilage between his second and third rib might be cracked.

Reid wouldn't rule out Vick for the 49ers' game, saying Vick's sore and will be evaluated each day. Kevin Kolb, who began the season as the Eagles' No. 1 quarterback, would start if Vick can't play.

60 Minutes: Michael Vick's Remarkable Comeback

Running back LeSean McCoy did break a rib during the first half of Sunday's 17-12 loss to the Washington Redskins but played through it. His status also is uncertain. And Pro Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel and wide receiver Riley Cooper sustained concussions.

I believe Michael Vick has paid his debt to society, and more. There are convicted hardened criminals that have spent less time in jail then Vick for much worse crimes then illegal dog fighting. Not counting the 6 million dollars he gave to the S.P.C.A. and is still doing community services, and visiting schools to talk against dog fighting. There was no need to crush him between two very large tackles like they did, and it looked intentional to do harm to him. The Redskins ought to look at themselves in their use of unnecessary acts of extreme violence in injuring their opponants.

I wonder what Mr. Vick would have done with one of his dogs should the dog encounter this same injury?

Hmmmmmm.

I'll bet he's glad he's not a dog.
