Sarah Palin Using 9/11 to Make $ for Glenn Beck?

By
CBSNews
(CBS)  Glenn Beck is holding an event in Anchorage, Ala. this Saturday. It's not cheap. The lowest price ticket goes for 60 bucks. Special VIP tickets that get you a meet and greet with the Fox star go for $200.

Everything Beck touches pretty much turns to gold. I have no problem with him profiting from his punditry. But were you to land on Sarah Palin's Facebook page recently you would have read that she's encouraging her followers to join her at the event as well. Palin says "There's no better way to commemorate 9/11 than to gather with patriots who will never forget."

At $60 to $200 a shot, if all the proceeds are going to veterans or some other worthy cause, then great. If not, then shame on you, Sarah. Using 9/11 as an emotional fulcrum to get people to put money in Glenn Beck's pockets is appalling. It trivializes 9/11...and him...and you.

Just a minute, I'm Harry Smith, CBS News.

The first page of Mr. Beck's web site states the funds raised in Alaska are for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
Before you make a statement, Mr. Smith, maybe you should do some research. Mr. Beck does. If you would watch his program, as another comment in Facebood suggests, you would see everything he says is backed up with the subject's words, either recorded or written in a letter or book by that subject.

Of course, if this money is "being donated" in the same fashion as his D.C. rally, the foundation only gets whatever might be left over after the expenses are paid. Rather than credit Beck with making a donation, let us wait and see what, if anything, actually gets donated. Pennies on the dollar? Or maybe Beck will recommend the foundation invest it with "Gold Line."

I'm sure your next column Harry will give credit to Beck for donating the proceeds to the troops families. You could do the same Smith if you cared about something other than tearing other people down for their good deeds.

Palin & Beck...together again...makes me want to puke! Sarah Palin has turned hatred (wrapped in patriotism) into a means of making LOTS of money for herself. Glenn Beck is pretending to embrace christianity and is simply a greedy, raving lunatic who loves ratings. Both enjoy fanning the flames of fear and discontent to promote their own interests and those of big business. All they will need at this gathering is Newt Gingrich to pass the Kool-Aide.

I guess you don't know that Sarah Palin wasn't paid for this appearance and Beck donated all of his money to charity. Neither of them gained even one dime for this appearance. My proof is an article that CBS published yesterday, September 12, about this event. You spoke and spouted your hatred before you knew what you were talking about! You accuse Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck of being hateful but you and people like you spout more hate on these comment boards than anyone and I DO MEAN ANYONE!

I guess you can't see the forest for the trees...the only reason Palin gave up as governor of Alaska was to chase the almighty dollar and pander to narrow-minded radicals who can't think for themselves. She's pulling in millions of your hard-earned dollars.

Beck,Palin, gingrich, et. al., make me physically ill, spreading their fearmongering and profiting from it to boot?!? Anyone hear about Gingrich's film coming out on 9/11 that exploits that tragedy and encourages Islamiphobia? I'm not worried about Islam being evil, but I am worried that THEY are evil!

Refudiate the Mama Grizzlies!! Palin/Beck 2012!!

These two will be building a cozy campfire after the event, and they are asking all those planning to attend to bring a Quran... you know, just in case they run out of burning crosses.. I mean wood.

Hey limp Smith, why don't you wait to see what the money is going for before you spew your hatred. CBS sucks. They raised 5.5 million for SOWF on 8-28-10 . I want to see how your money is being spent

sarah and glenn donated their own money ... or they donated somebody else's money?

I'd like to see the proof that the actually raised that much money. And where it came from. And proof of where it goes.

Hey - if CBS sucks so bad, why are you on thier website? Or are you so compelled by suck that you can't stay away? Is that why you watch Beck and can't get enough of Palin?
