McDonaldMcDonald's Flunks Burger Taste Ratings

By
CBSNews
(CBS)  McDonald's may have served billions of burgers, but that hasn't kept the burger chain from bottoming out in burger rankings. According to a recent survey of 28,000 Consumer Reports' subscribers, the fast-food behemoth doesn't hold a candle -- in flavor, anyway -- to lesser-known burger joints.

Among the standouts were In-N-Out Burger and Five Guys Burgers and Fries. The full report and ratings will be available in the magazine's October issue and on www.ConsumerReports.org.

"In this case, the bigger-name burger wasn't better," said Tod Marks, Senior Project Editor for Consumer Reports. "The Five Guys patty was more flavorful, juicy and meat tasting."

Online subscribers rated burgers from 18 restaurants on a scale of 1 to 10 from least delicious ever eaten to most.

I remember when BK and Hardee's made grilled burgers that were actualy good. McD was my least favorite but they haven't gotten a lot crappier than they ever were. All these places stink now and I won't eat there any more.

Love the 'do no enter' sign in the McDonalds photo lol
It's good advice.... pure crap.

If you're ever up in Toronto, you want Johnny's hamburgers.
There's only one location, because that's all they need.

I've never tried a Five Guys, no outlet in So. Cal., but In-N-Out gets my vote, the closest burger to home made I've ever had, I'd drive 30 miles to go to an In-N-Out and often have. The one's here in San Diego will have cars lined up 40 deep at lunch time every day, they'll have 2 or 3 order takers come out and work the line to keep the traffic flowing through the drive up window and inside will be standing room only.

No surprise here: my first and only McAngus burger made me feel like I had eaten a candle it was so greasy. Wendy's has much better fries when they're cooked right.

Why can't we have sweet potato fries at American fast food joints???

For a good burger in New England go to Wild Willy's in York, ME or Rochester, NH...

I hate these stupid articles, McDonald's flunking a taste test.

First off, the McAgnus burger is really good tasting. Most of the other burgers don't taste as good, because well they are a bit healthier then other burger's and their Angus burger.

There's a simple logic, the better something tastes the worse it is on your body.

For crying out loud, just leave McDonald's alone. They are making a good effort at trying to make their food healthier, and they are now dammed if they do, dammed if they dont.

Besides, McDonald's french frieds are the best.

A dozen Krystal burgers, late at night at the drive-thru window with the incompetent clerks. Pure heaven. Wait in line a half an hour, but it's worth it. Little depth charges. Of course, this is a fantasy now that I'm diabetic:)

Have never tried Five Guys. But I don't think McDonald"s burgers are as good as they used to be. I think McDonalds Angus burger is very good though. Best burgers I have ever had are usually from little mom and pop joints.
