"60 Minutes:" Some of the Entertainers We've Met

(CBS)  Since "60 Minutes" premiered in September 1968, our broadcast has interviewed thousands of people, including heads of state, newsmakers, athletes and entertainers.

With the TV season starting up again soon, we decided to take a look back at some of the memorable entertainers we've met over the last few decades.

They include stars from the big and small screen, as well as the stage.

We start with legendary Hollywood actress Katharine Hepburn, who was quite outspoken and didn't hold back when she was interviewed by Morley Safer!

1979: Katharine Hepburn
Katharine Hepburn was blunt and candid, in this classic interview with Morley Safer. She even talked about the movie industry at the time, telling Safer she was "disgusted" with what was getting on the big screen.

1988: George Burns

1989: Miles Davis
In 1989, Jazz great Miles Davis told Harry Reasoner that unlike what many think, race did not play a role in developing his talent.




1991: Barbra Streisand

1994: Sir Anthony Hopkins

2007: Dame Helen Mirren
In 2007, Morley Safer interviewed Dame Helen Mirren - once called by some "the sex queen of Stratford." During the interview she recalled her mother's reaction to being on the set of "Caligula," a movie with quite a bit of sex and nudity.
