"Marinating" Cat Found by Cops in Car Trunk

Police say traffic stop led to animal cruelty charges after they found a live cat "marinating" in oil and peppers in the trunk of a car.

Buffalo police say officers heard the cat meowing when they stopped 51-year-old Gary Korkuc of Cheektowaga to ticket him for running a stop sign Sunday night.

They say they checked the trunk and found 4-year-old Navarro in a cage, his fur covered with oil, crushed red peppers and chili peppers.

Police say Korkuc told them he did it because Navarro was ill-tempered. Korkuc was charged with cruelty and released; his phone number isn't listed.

Police say he told them he was going to cook Navarro. Korkuc also told officers a number of things that didn't make sense, including that his neutered male cat was pregnant.

Animal advocates have cleaned Navarro and put him up for adoption.

Yeah, I'll bet you also want to wear a black leather catwoman suit, a spiked collar and pointy high heel pumps. Weirdo.

Korkuc is an idiot. You can't marinate a live animal. How are the oils and spices going to soak into the meat? Skin it then marinate! Duh!

First of all, that is not how you marinate a cat.

WE have a cat that looks just like Navarro and he is quite a pill. If we didn't live on the west coast, I'd like to adopt him.
I have the purrfect picture in mind, as what should be done to this Korkuc?
Navarro needs a better home!

Dang...Wish I could travel to Tonawanda, and adopt this kitty myself. Tuxedo kitties have one of the sweetest dispositions among cats. Heck, I actually WOULD drive there, if I could only aim my headlights at Korcuc!

This is so true. The most friendly and sweetest cats I have ever had and known were Tuxedo Cats. My most beloved cat Fiona looked almost exactly like this one and it just broke my heart to read this. I am so thankful this cat is saved. I too would love to go up there and take this baby home.

CVANOFF, you'd have to beat me to the punch. This sicko needs a vigilante to teach him a lesson in humanity! To give HIM a taste of his own medicine. This type of news brings out the worse in me, sorry.

There is a special circle in hell for people like Gary Korkuc. I'll let him in on a little secret: One reason we love cats is that they can be ill-tempered, and they tend to have minds of their own.

One reason I love cats is because they're exactly the right size and weight to punt over the fence back into the neighbor's yard.
