Whoopi Goldberg, WH Crasher Tangle After "View"

A spokesman says White House gatecrasher Michaele Salahi's visit to the ABC daytime talk show "The View" ended in a backstage shouting match with co-host Whoopi Goldberg.

Salahi went to the show Wednesday to promote her appearance on Bravo's "Real Housewives of D.C.," which premieres Thursday. Goldberg touched Salahi's back during an interview to get her attention and urge her to talk about the night she and her husband crashed President Obama's state dinner last fall.

"The View" spokesman Karl Nilsson says after the show Goldberg and Salahi got into a "heated exchange" when Goldberg learned Salahi had accused the host of hitting her.

Salahi hasn't responded to an e-mailed request for comment. Bravo spokeswoman Cameron Blanchard says she's been unsuccessful trying to reach Salahi for her side of the story.

The interesting thing is, Whoopi excuses herself from the panel if she has zero interest in the current guests promoting whatever it is they're there to talk about. But Whoopi, apparently had to come out and say something to what's-her-face about getting "back to the White House" discussion. I saw the whole thing. Whoopi did not hit anybody, although she did admit that she used "course words" during her backstage heated argument with Salahi and her husband.

My thoughts on The View: The View is nothing but a "hen party" where all the women almost constantly talk over each other, so you can't really understand what ANY of them are saying.

Personally, I have never thought Whoopi Goldberg was very talented or very funny, but obviously someone does, or she wouldn't be in the position she is in on The View.

My wife watches The View occasionally, and when I happen to catch part of it, I always say to her "I'd like this show a lot more if they would get rid of that annoying Elisabeth Hasselbeck." That woman just rubs me the wrong way.

As for the Salahi woman: I agree with the others: She is a publicity w*ore and will do anything for another minute in the spotlight.

It appears that the Salahi couple will stop at absolutely nothing to get another 15 minutes of fame. These two are certifiably insane.
