Mary Hart Leaving 'Entertainment Tonight'

Longtime "Entertainment Tonight" host Mary Hart is leaving the show after her upcoming 30th season.

Hart said Thursday that it's time for a change, but she'll be leaving with mixed sentiments. It's not clear when her last day will be, but a television season traditionally ends in May.

The former English teacher from Sioux Falls, S.D., joined "Entertainment Tonight" in 1982, working most prominently with John Tesh. She's kept the job as the entertainment news industry grew around her. She is so closely associated with celebrity reporting that she has played herself in dozens of TV shows and movies.

Hart started her career as a beauty queen and model. She prepresented South Dakota in the 1970 Miss America pageant and was one of the top 10 finalists.

"ET" is the original entertainment newsmagazine and still leads in the ratings.

No replacement has been named. One potential candidate is Lara Spencer, who anchors "ET's" sister broadcast, "The Insider."

Will someone please find a replacement for Nancy O'Dell on Entertainment Tonight. She lacks the energy in providing the news reporting. If you keep her, PLEASE give her a new hair style.

It was announced tonight that Nancy O'Dell was to replace Mary Hart. So, what happened regarding the previous statement that Lara Spencer would take over for Mary Hart ???? !!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless Lara Spencer has since decided on something else, I think if I was Lara, I'd be a bit upset about the decision to bring Nancy O'Dell in instead.

I don't watch Entertainment tonight because the show sensationalizes even the most tragic and sad events. I think they played Gary Coleman's death for 5 days, over and over and over. It was just sickening. Anyway, the show could use someone who has some empathy.
Lara Spencer - NO!
How about Kathie Lee Gifford? How about Roma Downey? How about Olivia Newton John?

I'll personally start watching the show every night if they will PLEASE get that no talent, loud, obnoxious, Samantha Harris!

Where do they find these people? Yuck!
