Corpses of 8 Newborns Found in France

(CBS/ AP)  A French judicial official says police have found the corpses of eight newborn babies on the property of a home on a village in northern France.

The official said Wednesday that the parents of the babies have been detained by the police.

The corpses were found on two different parts of the property in the town of Villers-sur-Tertre, about 35 miles from Lille.

Police said the bodies were discovered in the garden, according to Sky News.

Teams of investigators are searching the house for forensic clues.

It is believed the babies were from the same mother and father.

France has seen a string of cases in recent years of mothers killing their newborns and saving and hiding the corpses.

In one case, Celine Lesage acknowledged in court in March that she killed six of her newborns, whose corpses were found in plastic bags in her basement in northwest France.

Another Frenchwoman, Veronique Courjault, was convicted last year of murdering three of her newborn children. Her husband discovered two of the corpses in a freezer while the two were living in South Korea.

During the trial psychiatrists testified that she suffered from a psychological condition known as "pregnancy denial."

Germany also has seen a string of similar cases.

In one, a woman was convicted of manslaughter in 2006 and sentenced to the maximum 15 years in prison for killing eight of her newborn babies and burying them in flower pots and a fish tank in the garden of her parents' home near the German-Polish border.

The prosecutor for the Nord region is planning a news conference on Thursday.

Only 15 years for killing EIGHT babies? Manslaughter? As if it wasn't her fault, it was just sorta kinda an accident that they ALL died? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8... that's a lot of numbers. It doesn't seem like justice for those 8 children.

Could it be possible that these women see so many problems with our sick society that they simply do not want to raise their children in it?
Have they been abused by the authorities?
Educated people, simply do not make babies in a police state!
Maybe they were denied birth control, and forced to become pregnant, when they truly did not want to raise a child, in this sick Orwellian society.
Personally I fear, that we will see lots more of this type of thing, with more and more general surveillance, of the Panopticon type.

I will state the obvious, I guess - I am at a total loss.

Not only why anyone would/could ever do this but how does this go largely unnoticed in multiple cases? I mean: a woman is pregnant 8 times, presumably living in a relatively populous area and no one notices when she becomes non-pregnant and, on top of that, after 8 times has no children?
Doctors ever involved? No one ever wondering?

Even if these women who killed their child are crazy, they should do time in jail and not in a mental hospital, maybe after a sentence in jail or while in jail having a psy for them...but these kind of women are guilty or horrible crimes and they certainly knew in some way what they were doing, they killed their kids for godsake no? yesssssss, so there was an intent and further more, not 1 kid but 6 or 8?, that is totally intent of murder...guilty, even if they say they are in denial, they made their kid disapear to fit their state of mind....guilty, guilty, and guilty, the mental hospital is too good for these women,

I do not understand this. They say there is a "rash" of these incidents there and in Germany. How does this sort of thing catch on like a fad? Do they have some sort of ...and I use the term loosely.... rationale? Disgusting. I guess I am trying to make sanity out of something insane.

Yes, it's the end result of OVERPOPULATION in a finite environment with limited resources, you see this in animals too. When competition for scarcer resources happens, so does this.

The earth is far from overpopulated with humans, humans have been living in high population density cities for many many years, in fact most or recorded history.
Scarcity is just a way to make the rich richer, it is mostly a manufactured problem.
What is happing is that with Surveillance of the Panopticon Type, humans feel as though that they are being watched all the time, and humans truly have a need for privacy. It will not help to hide the cameras or conceal them either, it is the fact that we are being watched, and we know it.
I personally have not had any privacy, since 1965, and I have never been convicted of a crime, It is my words, that have caused me to lose my privacy, words just like you see here.
If you ever live on a small island, with other people like you, you will learn about privacy, for on a small island their is no privacy, everyone knows your business.
