Chelsea Clinton Wedding Details Surface

The country is bracing itself for what could be the wedding of year in Rhinebeck, N.Y., where former first daughter Chelsea Clinton and investment banker Marc Mezvinsky are set to marry at a private estate on Saturday.

CBS News correspondent Elaine Quijano, reporting from Rhinebeck, said Chelsea Clinton's wedding will reportedly take place at 6 p.m. at the posh Astor Courts estate, just in time for guests to enjoy a breathtaking sunset view in the comfort of a massive, air-conditioned tent.

Workers were spotted sprucing up the grounds on Tuesday, in preparation for an event that could see as many as 500 invited guests.

The mother-of-the-bride, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is also gearing up for the big day. She was spotted in Manhattan arriving at her daughter's apartment.

She recently told CBS News, she couldn't be happier for Chelsea and her future son-in-law, Marc mezvinsky.

"I think they'll have just a great marriage going forward," she said. "So as the mother-of-the-bride, I could not be happier."

Back in Rhinebeck, well-wishers from town anxiously await more details

Stephanie Winne, a real estate agent, said, "Store fronts are getting ready. Flowers are being planted. Everyone is sprucing up their sites."

Women's Wear Daily got this exclusive shot of a woman they say is Chelsea -- entering Vera Wang's New York studio for a fitting.

But the money shot on Saturday will be the first photo of the beaming bride.

John Roca, a New York Daily News photographer, told CBS News, "This is gonna take a lot of creative power to figure out how to shoot this wedding, if I can get a shot of Chelsea in her gown right after the nuptials."

Quijano added reportedly the bridesmaids and flower girls will be wearing Vera Wang dresses, and Hillary Clinton will likely wear Oscar de la Renta.

Yessirreee!! The Republicans have once again managed to focus on the most important issue facing America today.

Don't criticize the cost of the wedding. Think of it as some of the Clinton millions trickling down to the little people. Should be jump-starting the economy any minute, shouldn't it, you supply siders?

Ooh, I think some money just magically appeared in my wallet.

Why does the media whip this up as if it is a national story. Really, who cares other than her family and friends?

The Democratic press will really be shoving this wedding at us, but we can ignore reading it. I've pretty much stopped reading any articles, commentaries, and the like, that pertain to the Dem celebrities as they just want the attention. Sure saves my blood pressure from rising as I intend to be here come next election so my vote will count!!

Wow! Spending 12 Million $$$$ on a wedding ceremony....I wonder how much money both of these wealthy families give to the poor via charities? I also wonder how much it is costing the working poor and middle class citizen's taxes are being wasted on secuity, etc? Doesn't members of the former president's family have secret-service agents protecting them???? What a waste of taxpayer's money.

When did it become 12 Million?

They may have a certain amount of service agents protecting them, but it is probably the same as it always is. They will be needing a lot more than that for the wedding, and that, they will be paying for themselves. It won't be costing the taxpayers anything.

And I would imagine they spend a lot on charities.

First, outside of Rhinebeck, not many in NY care about this wedding. Does anyone really think it will bring much money to Rhinebeck except for the press spending money to be camped out there for days. I am sure all the flowers, food and much more is being trucked in, not catered by locals. This is just an example of the liberals and their "do as I say not as I do" attitude. We have to tighten our belts and sacrifice for the good of our country while Hilary goes overseas and gives away our tax money in the form of foreign aid and tells us we have to let more illegals in the country or we are not compassionate and oh if everything is so transparent why does the press have to beg for wedding details.
I am so sick of the press and its adoration of the Clintons and the Obamas and their politics, November cannot come soon enough !!!

Not spending millions on a wedding isn't go to feed people who are out of work and hungry. Spending it does put it in the economy. And what would you expect from two Wall Street types. Money and spending it is their mission. What disappoints me the most IS THAT ACTUALLY WASTED MY TIME READING THIS TRIPE. I need to go on a long retreat and reassess my personal character.

The really important issue in a matrimony for any bride and groom is of course the couples' genuine religious and spiritual connection. Reportedly President and Mrs. Clinton are spending literally millions of dollars celebrating this lavish high society wedding. Apparently small ceremonies reportedly involving a quarter of a million dollars on flowers and fifteen thousand on portable toilets and thousands more still for designer gowns are not the sole province of famous Hollywood celebs anymore. I certainly do wish the young couple well. Congratulations Chelsea and Marc!
