Ariz. Gov. Seeks Dismissal of Immigration Suit

By

(AP)  Attorneys for Gov. Jan Brewer have asked a judge to throw out the U.S. Justice Department's challenge to Arizona's new immigration law.

The governor's lawyers said Monday the federal government hasn't shown it has suffered actual harm from the law and instead bases its claim on speculation.

Ariz. Immigration Law Symbolizes Festering Anger

The federal government says the state law is trumped by federal law and that it has hurt U.S. relations with Mexico. It is scheduled to take effect Thursday.

Attorneys for Brewer say Mexico's disapproval of the law doesn't make it unconstitutional.

U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton is considering requests by the Justice Department, a Phoenix police officer and civil rights groups to put the law on hold.

Anyone lending aid, comfort, and moral support to individuals, groups or organizations that advocate the overthrow of incumbent governments by force and violence is subversive and is engaged in subversive activity. All willful acts that are intended to be detrimental to the best interests of the government and that do not fall into the categories of treason, sedition, sabotage, or espionage will be placed in the category of subversive activity.

a federal judge is engaging in subversive activity considered to overthrow a government and its federal laws.

therefore, I propose a federal agency arrest that said federal judge.

I think the federal government will lose this suit. The reasoning is simple. Yes, immigration policy and enforcement are the job of the federal government. So too is printing money.

Now, if a municipal police officer just happens to catch you counterfeiting money, do you think he will hesitate to arrest you for counterfeiting? And if he does, do you imagine that you could get the case thrown out of court on the basis that he is a city cop and not federal? Give it a try.

A state building its sandcastle in the feds' sandbox is not what is wrong with Arizona's immigration law. That law *is* about racial profiling, but even that is not in and of itself racist. And fear of the racist label is why security screeners at the airport will frisk your grandmother before they'll question a guy in a turban. Get over that fear. More often than not, applying labels is the actual racist act.

The real problem with Arizona's new immigration law is that it shifts the burden of proof to the suspect rather than leaving it on the accuser -- where it belongs. But don't expect the Obama administration to push *that* angle. It's contrary to what they are all about.

Remove "illegals," yes. Hunt for them by questioning everyone that even *might* be one -- no.

Today thousands of acres of wildlife preserve in Arizona were closed to Americans. Why? Mexican drug smugglers had taken it over to the point where law enforcement deemed it too dangerous for American civilians to use. Now, we are being invaded and our land occupied by a foreign invasion force. I know of no other American president that has stood by and watch America be invaded by a foreign country.

I hereby demand that Obama to be removed for office for the crime of treason against the United States of America.

Barack Obama and his cohorts have avoided key duties demanded by the Constitution, including defending the border, while engaging in a multitude of illicit activities specifically barred by the Constitution.

The President should apologize to Governor Brewer and the people of Arizona.

You ARE aware of the fact that he is sworn to defend the Constitution, aren't you?

If so, you would have him apologize for fulfilling his oath of office?

He works for the U.S. citizens not mexico. We the people are supposed to have a say in things by constitutional rights but we seem to have lost that right. Why should I work my rear off to support mexicans SGT.? I realize you are conditioned to serve the U.S. government no matter what the stakes are but the government has no money without the citizens who feed into it. What do you think will happen if we the people stop working? Boycott. What if we packed up and moved to another country?

Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas

Parkland is home to the second busiest maternity ward in the country with almost 16,000 new babies arriving each year. (That's almost 44 per day---every day)! A recent patient survey indicated that 70 percent of the women who gave birth at Parkland in the first three months of 2006 were illegal immigrants. That's 11,200 anchor babies born every year just in Dallas!! According to the article, the hospital spent $70.7 million delivering 15,938 babies in 2004 but managed to end up with almost $8 million dollars in surplus funding. Medicaid kicked in $34.5 million, Dallas County taxpayers kicked in $31.3 million and the feds tossed in another $9.5 million. The average patient in Parkland in maternity wards is 25 years old, married and giving birth to her second child. She is also an illegal immigrant. By law, pregnant women cannot be denied medical care based on their immigration status or ability to pay. OK, fine. That doesn't mean they should receive better care tha everyday, middle-class American citizens But at Parkland Hospital , they do. " Parkland Memorial Hospital has nine prenatal clinics. NINE!!!
The Dallas Morning News article followed a Hispanic woman who was a patient at one of the clinics and pregnant with her third child---her previous two were also born at Parkland. Her first two deliveries were free and the Mexican native was grateful because it would have cost $200 to have them in Mexico. This time, the hospital wants her to pay $10 per visit and $100 for the delivery but she was unsure if she could come up with the money. Not that it matters, the hospital won't turn her away. (I wonder why they even bother asking at this point.)
"How long has this been going on? What are the long-term effects?
Well, another subject of the article was born at Parkland in 1986 shortly after her mother entered the US illegally - now she is having her own child there as well. (That's right; she's technically a U.S. citizen.) These women receive free prenatal care including medication, nutrition, birthing classes and child care classes. They also get freebies such as car seats, bottles, diapers and formula. Most of these things are available to American citizens as well, but only for low-income applicants, and even then, the red tape involved is almost insurmountable. Because these women are illegal immigrants, they do not have to provide any sort of legitimate identification - no proof of income. An American citizen would have to provide a social security number which would reveal their annual income - an illegal immigrant need only claim to be poor and the hospital must take them at their word.
Parkland Hospital offers indigent care to Dallas County residents who earn less than $40,000 per year. (They also have to prove that they did not refuse health coverage at their current job.. Yeah, the 'free' care is not so easy for Americans.) There are about 140 patients who received roughly $4 million dollars for un-reimbursed medical care. As it turns out, they did not qualify for freetreatment because they resided outside of Dallas County so the hospital is going to sue them! Illegal's get it all free! But U S citizens who live outside of Dallas County get sued! How stupid is this? As if that isn't annoying enough, the illegal immigrant patients are actually complaining about hospital staff not speaking Spanish. In this AP story, the author speaks with a woman who is upset that she had to translate comments from the hospital staff into Spanish for her husband. The doctor was trying to explain the situation to the family and the mother was forced to translate for her husband who only spoke Spanish. This was apparently a great injustice to her. In an attempt to create a Spanish-speaking staff, Parkland Hospital is now providing incentives in the form of extra pay for applicants who speak Spanish.. Additionally, medical students at the University of Texas Southwestern for which Parkland Hospital is the training facility will now have a Spanish language requirement added to their already jammed-packed curriculum. No other school in the country boasts such a ridiculous multi-semester (multicultural) requirement. Remember that this is about only ONE hospital in Dallas, Texas. There are many more hospitals across our country that must also deal with this.

Great Job. The illegals are taking advantage of this great nation. It is past time for it to stop. We do not want to pay for their medical, education, rent, legal ect. We should take care of our own house first. AND, I am really getting pizzed about pushing one for English. English is our language period.

Gov. Jan Brewer for President

The cost of harboring illegal immigrants in the United States is a staggering $113 billion a year -- an average of $1,117 for every ?native-headed? household in America -- according to a study conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
