Second Cup Cafe: 2AM Club
(CBS)
Pop, hip-hop, funk, rock -- just a few of the ways you could describe the sound of the up-and-coming band, 2AM Club.
They are six guys who come from all over, but they all found each other in Los Angeles in 2007 and signed a record contract in 2008.
Now, they're gearing up for the summer release of their first debut album, "What Did You Think Was Going to Happen?"
How did the young talents end up landing a record deal just a year after they got together to jam?
Besides sheer dedication in taking on the West Coast by booking, producing, and headlining their own gigs, the 2AM Club took advantage of the local college scene as a platform to perfect their skills, coincidentally winning over the "2 a.m." crowds, as well!
After the band members, who hail from Seattle, the Bay Area and the Northeast received their recording contract, they headed across the county to New York City, where they recorded "What Did You Think Was Going To Happen?"
The 2AM Club stopped by "The Early Show on Saturday Morning"'s "Second Cup Cafe" for their first national television performance, doing their first single, "Worry About You," along with "Same Night Sky."
The 2AM Club is made up of singer Marc Griffin, emcee Tyler Cordy, guitarist Matt Reagan, keyboard player Dave Dalton, drummer Ian O'Neill and bassist Matt Warshauer, a.k.a. "Sauce."
When it comes that first single, the band may not have anything to "worry" about because "Worry About You" just left its mark on Top 40 radio and is currently available on iTunes.
