Inside van der Sloot's Prison Cell: Have a Look!

(CBS)  Joran van der Sloot continues to stonewall the Peruvian judge who wants to question him about the murder of Stephany Flores, reports CBS News Correspondent Jeff Glor.

But, in an interview with a Dutch newspaper, the Dutchman admits, "It's my own fault I'm here," in the infamous Miguel Castro Castro Prison in Lima.

Van der Sloot, 22, is charged with killing Flores, a 21-year-old business student, in his Lima hotel room. He's confessed, but claims the confession was coerced and that he was tricked into it by Peruvian authorities, and wants it thrown out.

He's also still the chief suspect in the 2005 disappearance in Aruba of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway.

CBS News cameras got exclusive access to van der Sloot's cell and some other parts of the notorious Castro Castro facility.

His cell, says Glor, has only a thin mattress to sleep on.

By recanting his confession, he could end up waiting in the six-by-eleven-foot room for two years before going to trial.

Out of fear for his life, van der Sloot is being held in a segregated block, away from the general prison population.

But fellow inmate Walter Ramos says, behind those walls, van der Sloot's notoriety may actually protect him. "These people are criminals," Ramos says, "and they're gonna give him the respect, because he committed a crime."

In a prison that's plagued by overcrowding, it appears to be only a matter of time before he moves to the general population -- .a move that could last 35 years if van der Sloot is convicted of murder and gets the maximum sentence.

Ramos says his "advice is to just relax and not to be worried and let things cool off."

The last thing that Joran will do before he takes his last breath will be to take responsibility for his actions.

That's right Joran, take the inmate's advice and just relax. That way you'll never see them coming for you when Flores' father gives someone an ice cream cone for shanking you. Just relax...
