Biden Jokes About Blumenthal Vietnam Claim

(AP)  Vice President Joe Biden has joked about avoiding a "Blumenthal mistake," a reference to the Connecticut attorney general's frequent misstatements about serving in Vietnam.

Biden met with veterans visiting his official residence on Tuesday night and tried to joke about Blumenthal's gaffe, for which he apologized last week. The Democratic attorney general is seeking the Senate seat.

Biden said: "I didn't serve in Vietnam. I don't want to make a Blumenthal mistake here. Our attorney general from Connecticut, God love him."

He later added: "I have a bad habit of saying exactly what I think."

Blumenthal is looking to succeed Sen. Chris Dodd, a Democrat who is retiring. Republicans have been consistent in their criticism and will likely nominate wrestling executive Linda McMahon.

Gotta love Joe . . . he says whatever comes out of his mind, right then, stupid or not. Maybe more politicians might try that than defending their lies, ah, I mean "miss-statements," to be euphemistic.

Actually Joe, I wish more politicians had that 'bad habit' of yours of saying exactly what they think. Instead of all the double-speak we get from most of them.

If only what he was thinking wasn't so completely idiotic. This is the fool who said that when the depression happened, President Roosevelt went on TV and consoled the country. Hoover was president and there was no TV.

"I participated in the storming of Normandy Beach"

Wait, I mis-spoke. I watched Saving Private Ryan.
