Shelley Tyre's Dive Log
Read excerpts of Shelley Tyre's dive log, which was an exhibit in the criminal trial of her husband, David Swain.
PANIC
Dive 167, a night dive, Shelley notes that she had some "initial panic" descending, and writes that the weight issue is "her panic button."
On dive 266 she says is "the worst dive ever" and writes, "I admit, I panicked."
On dive 274 she also writes, "Panicked a little. Or more."
The prosecution dive experts said the use of the word panic in Shelley's log is not the same as a full scale panic that could lead to death. And prosecution experts pointed out Shelley solved the problems that came up in these dives.
