Female Students Subdue Attacker on Maine Campus
Police say five female students subdued a 45-year-old man who stabbed a woman on the campus of Maine's Husson University.
Bangor Police say Horst Wolk of Bangor has been charged with attempted murder, elevated aggravated assault, aggravated assault and violating a protection order.
Sgt. Paul Edwards says officers responded at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a domestic fight and a suspect being subdued on the ground.
He says the victim was a student, but her identity wasn't released.
"We have recovered a knife at the scene," Edwards said.
The attack happened near the commons, Julie Green, university spokeswoman, said a few hours later.
The female students subdued Wolk, who was taken directly to the police department, should be commended for their actions, Green said, according to the Bangor Daily News.
The female victim was taken to a hospital by someone at the scene, Edwards said. He says the victim's injuries weren't life threatening.
