Bonaduce Trashes Lohan's Parents

By
CBSNews
(CBS)  Danny Bonaduce says Lindsay Lohan's parents are "vile" and see only dollar signs when they look at her.

Amid a report by Lara Spencer of "The Insider" that Lohan is badly abusing prescription medications and that her father, Michael Lohan, may seek to legally intervene in her affairs to force her to get help, Bonaduce sounded convinced of the former but hardly the latter.

On "The Early Show" Tuesday, the radio host and former child star, himself a recovering addict, blasted both Michael Lohan and Lindsay's mother, Dina Lohan, who's said to feel Lindsay is doing alright.

"Michael Lohan (also a recovering addict, who's spent time in jail, and is now six years clean and sober) is a criminal and a thug. I don't believe that either of those parents see a child when they look at their daughter. I think they see a big bag of money. I think, in a family portrait, you see Mr. and Mrs. Lohan, the family dog, the sister and a sack full of money in a Girl Scout outfit. I don't believe that they care about her anywhere but financial financially."

Would rehab help Lindsay?

"Rehabs," Bonaduce replied, "have a national record of a 96 percent failure record. If you want her off drugs for real, handcuff her and -- it's very difficult to do drugs with your hands chained behind your back. Let's stop playing around with these kids. If you don't want the kid to die, put her in jail with her hands tied behind her back. Everybody says there's all these drugs in jail -- and there are drugs in jail -- but believe me, they're not real easy to come by, especially if you're Lindsay Lohan."

Bonaduce says, as you're in the throes of addiction, "You almost never think you're going to die. As a matter of fact, I know plenty of people, because I went to my meetings and rehab, I quit drugs, I know lots of people addicted to drugs and almost everybody's been talked out of it. I think the sad part is I have such a distaste for the Lohans that you got remember Elvis Presley made $55 million last year. She's not done making money if she happens to pass away. And I personally, and this is just my opinion, think these two are vile enough to go, Plan B is, if she passes away, let's make Lindsay clocks."

Bonaduce had a sobering warning, saying a list some radio hosts use to prepare for their shows called "the dead pool. I spent four years on number one as the next celebrity to die. I'm now No. 63. Lindsay's one."

He says he's seen Lindsay at her worst. "I said that I had seen her drinking and falling down, all these things. People thought I was hanging out with Lindsay Lohan. We just happened to be in the same places. Lindsay happens to vomit in some of the very nicest clubs in Los Angeles. But I've seen her, yeah, I've seen her fall down, I've seen her fall, get into the driver's seat of a car and somebody thank god had the wherewithal to pull her out of the car and put her into the back seat. Had they not, not only is Lindsay going to kill herself, there's very good chance she's gonna wipe out a little family on her way home."

Bonaduce added a somber note, saying he only did the interview "because I actually believe she was the one that had talent. She should have made it. The rest of us, we were cute once and we grew out of it. She could have been a real star and I hope she gets it together."

Danny is right on this, her parents have proven time and time again that they are only in this for the money!

I truly hope she cleans herself up before she becomes another tragedy. I do not think her parents should have control of anything - out it all in trust and let it be run by someone who has no stake in it at all.

Agreed. I am not a fan of Danny, mainly because he has his own rep as a punk and trash talker. He's his own media *****, as it is. BUT, in this case he's right. Lohan's parents are nothign more than money seekers and will be secretly dancing on her grave when she does die, because they will then actually get all teh money and have control to keep it flowing off of residuals and probably TV Movies made about her life. I wouldn't put it past them at all. Users and abusers...

Keep in mind though,Lindsay is freak show all her own. I believe that is due to her upbringing. Spoiled little actress with greedy parents Terrible combination...

Althought I don't care for Danny, he's right on this one.

Addition is a cycle of chemical dependency, habit and denial. As far as rehab is concerned, that can only work if you have the will to say "no more" and mean it. There's no such thing as just cutting down. Lindsey and her mother are still in denial.

A jail term might save her life...if it's long enough, but that would only take care of the chemical dependency and habit aspects of addiction. Between the two of her parents, the father has the best chance of helping her with the denial part...afterwards...but somebody else needs to control what's left of her money.

If any money is left.

You can be forced to REHAB, while on probation, I was given a choice, PRISON or CLEAN AND SOBER, didn't take a PHD in any major to figure it out. Danny, He lays it out plain and simple. Gotta agree with the A**HOLE. LiLo's parents bite the big one. GET CLEAN LILO...GET CLEAN...

Parents who intentionally profit from the talents of their children are the most despicable type of pimp.

You can't "put" people into re-hab. That's the reason the success rate is so low. I'm a recovering alcoholic and in rehab you can see the failures come through the door. People sent there by judges, forced by employers, threateed with losing their kids and chased there by family. If they're not there by their own choice, they will do the time and the program then go out and right back to the same lifestyle that put them there in the first place. If they have bottomed out, and know it themselves, and are there to find the tools to keep themselves dry and clean they have a chance! Lindsy has never been allowed to get there. Yet.

Yes, Yes you can...with proper incentive, one can be put in and make a good restart from it. She just need someone with the balls to spank her properly, and set her on the right path. BTW, it isn't her parents, she needs to get free from both of them.

Danny knows whereof he speaks, having been there, and he's lucky to be alive. Watching Lindsay Lohan is like watching a train wreck. Funny, I remember thinking the same thing about Britney Spears a year or so ago and by gum, she pulled herself together. Let's hope the same thing can be said for Lindsay in a year or so. Right now, it doesn't look too promising...

Danny actually has a good point. Both parent seem to see dollar signs in Lindsey Lo. Her mother is the bigger evil because she doesn't realize her daughter has a serious problem because of fear of being cut off. Parents need to be parents first, friends later.

I'd say hes a veteran of emperical evidence. He went through a child actor then drug addict then clean system.

In this article, he isn't even attacking Lindsay, he's attacking the parents because neither are effective.
