Toyota Will Recall Lexus SUV for Rollover Issue

A Transportation Department official says Toyota will recall the 2010 Lexus GX 460 to address a potential problem with the SUV rolling over.

The recall affects about 6,000 vehicles that have been sold since the SUV went on sale in late December. Consumer Reports issued a "Don't Buy" warning last week on the 2010 GX 460, saying it was susceptible to rolling over.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because no formal announcement has been made.

Toyota responded by halting sales of new GX 460s and conducting tests on all of its SUVs.

The automaker also agreed to pay a record $16.4 million fine on Monday for failing to properly report a safety problem with defective gas pedals.

And the problem appears to be-----wait for it--------- wait for it----

A software issue in the stability control.

"But we are sure there are no computer problems with our gas pedal problems!"

Why blame Toyota/Lexus? As with the on-going SUA issue, driver error, floor mats, pedals, Government Motors, and anti-Asian sentiment are the causes of the latest SUV rollover issue!! BS!! To the contrary folks? this is just evidence of ANOTHER LIFE-THREATENING GLITCH IN ANOTHER of Toyota?s SYSTEMS? this time the glitch is in Toyota?s SUV STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM ?causing? roll-over instead of ?preventing? roll-over. What are the other GLITCHs you ask? Well? one other glitch would be in Toyota?s COMPUTER CONTROLLED drive-by-wire Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS). You know? the glitch that causes Sudden Unintended Acceleration (SUA) where even after years of complaints, injuries and deaths, and their eventually being forced to implement actual recalls, Toyota, while (despite proof they long knew otherwise) still denying computer glitch as being possible, still blames you the driver, floor mats and pedals for all of the SUA-related death and suffering. Sound familiar? Now assuming all is eventually to be good going forward in terms of honesty, integrity, quality-control and safety ? it?s simple folks? those responsible for the lapses in the past (both at Toyota and at NHTSA) are criminals!! In addition to the class-actions? these low-lives need to be brought front-and-center and sent to the HOOSEGOW!!

The question is, will Toyota go broke from lawsuits before it gets to where it can build a safe vehicle again?

Toyota reported today that they will change the method of sales calculations in their next annual report.

The new format will include cars sold, cars recalled and cars still on the road.

Toyota sincerely hopes that cars remaining on the road will exceed cars recalled...
