Danny Glover, 11 Others Arrested during Protest
Actor Danny Glover and 11 others have been arrested during a labor union protest at the headquarters of a food service company.
Montgomery County police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks says Glover and others stepped past yellow police tape and were asked to step back three times at Sodexo headquarters. When they refused, Starks says officers arrested them.
The dozen were issued citations for trespassing and let go. Starks says they face a $1,000 fine or 90 days in jail.
Starks says organizers told police beforehand that some would risk arrest.
The Service Employees International Union was protesting what it calls Sodexo's unfair and illegal treatment of workers. Sodexo says the union was spreading misinformation.

Speaking only for myself,I would find another way than trying to live on a third world salary in the States-feel free to try this if you yourself choose to....
Back in the 60's and early 70's wages were about 2-4 dollars an hour,
the average car was around 2-3 k , houses were around 10-15 k ,gas was about 20 cents a gallon and groceries were about $ 2 a bag full.
That was about the time unions started demanding large increases in wages and benifits and using illegal and confrontational strike action to force their demands. Companies were forced to give in and forced thereby to raise prices. The unions kept on striking in a perpetual circle and prices kept rising. before you knew it we had priced ourselves out of world markets and companies started moving to other countries to stay competitive.
The unions blame the companies but in reality, the fault lies with the unions. The only way to reverse the situation is for labour to take wage cuts thereby lowering prices to the point were we again can be competitive in the market place. No wage concessions means no price cuts and we remain stuck in the mud of failing economies.
Your post omits the fact that wages only rose an average of 38%, while prices and the cost of living rose 484%.
The companies raised their prices far in excess of the increased labor cost, but you see fit to ignore this little fact.
You also ignore the fact that even when labor costs decreased, because of the new slave labor found in other countries, prices continued to rise.
Actually your entire post is nothing but prevarication, so far removed from reality that there is only one conclusion, you want to bring back slavery to the US, perhaps under the delusion that the victims will again be only ethnic groups other than your own, or people other that you and yours.
Not going to happen son.
Ever again.

If there weren't Unions, Idiots like you would be working 12 hours a day seven days a week for squat.
Give it a rest., Moron.
--------------------------------------------------------------------- Got news for you bubba, America has lost most of its manufacturing and industry jobs to foreigners because of the unquenceable union demands for ever more wages and benifits. The prices of goods and services have skyrocketed in the last 5 or so decades because of over paid under worked unionists. Your greed has created a huge need!
As usual, you make the mistake of posting easily verifiable nonsense.
Since 1972, the dollar has devalued to now 18% of its former value.
This was not the fault of unions, but rather a necessary step Nixon was forced to take, because the the war profiteers during the SE Asia debacle had bankrupted the US (13 trillion, or 60 trillion in today's dollars), and Nixon sold the gold in the treasury on the open market to cover the debt.
Adjusting for the devaluation, this means that the average wage for Americans from 1972 to present rose 39%, while the cost of living rose 484%
You want to try to blame unions, but you cannot blame this discrepancy on the unions, a 38% increase in labor costs does not translate into a 484% rise in prices.
Business relocated to slave-labor countries to maximize profits, it seems you wish to bring back slavery in the US. That ain't gonna happen son, so you might as well commit suicide now, and save yourself the wasted energy trying to wish for it.

Got news for you bubba,
Because of under worked, over paid union slackers, America has lost most of it's industy to foreign companies. Because of unions unquenchable demands for ever more wages, the price of goods and services have increased dramaticly in the last 5-6 decades. Thanks to the unions we have massive unemployment rates and a million or so homeless people. Your greed has created a lot of need!
Why can't you?
