Shannon Engemann Denies Affair with Larry King

Larry King's sister-in-law is denying rumors of an alleged affair with the cable TV host.

Shannon Engemann told Access Hollywood Wednesday that she "never had an affair [with him]," and that she is "not the reason for this," referring to King's divorce from wife Shawn Southwick-King.

King filed for divorce on Wednesday shortly before his seventh wife also sought to end the couple's nearly 13-year-old marriage. He filed hours before she filed her own petition. Both cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

The couple were married in a hospital room in 1997 three days before King underwent surgery to clear a clogged blood vessel. They have two sons, ages 11 and 9. The petitions differ in that King is seeking joint custody, while his 50-year-old wife wants physical custody.

Larry King is also asking a judge not to award his wife any spousal support and to invalidate an agreement in which he transferred property to her, court records show.

Southwick-King's petition seeks spousal support from her husband, along with ownership of the couple's home in Beverly Hills, Calif., and two properties in Utah.

"His major concern is the welfare of his children," said Howard Rubenstein, a spokesman for King, adding that the talk-show host would not comment further on the divorce.

King's nightly news and interview show has been a CNN mainstay for nearly 25 years. He has three children from previous relationships.

The couple started house-hunting in California shortly after their marriage and lived in Beverly Hills. He is a Los Angeles Dodgers season ticket-holder and announced the start of the team's home opener to fans Tuesday.

Ok, if Larry was buying all these extravagant and seriously high priced items for his sister-in-law, then why in the world would he be doing that? I think Shawn is spot on that her sister was cheating with him. I'm sure Shawn cheated back out of revenge. Shame on both of you, Larry and Shannon. What a crappy husband, not to mention, sister!

I can dig what everybody is saying about old guys and gold diggers blah blah. ( my parents big gap marriage was successful and affairs free. Its ok to marry across age gaps..but religion has to be a factor or its doomed.).
But I'm curious as to why the same logic never seems to apply to women? Is his wife not ALSO setting herself up the same way by dating someone much younger than her around my age instead of her age? Could her "lover" also be just a gold digger? Couldnt he cheat on her when she is older or even now? Males cheat more frequently than women do.. so she is in greater risk than a male her age would be with a wife the dude's age.

Older men with younger wives have a lower failure rate than women with younger spouses... so wouldnt the same apply to women but doubly so? Why does everything in our white society have to be so double standardish? Is she no less an old fool? Why are women never called old fools and their younger males called gold diggers? . If everybody had an IQ over 130.. i'm confident that double standard wouldnt exist. But alas, we live in a 101 world. Sure we can say Larry is an old fool by so is his wife. Hell.. most women over 40 are no longer reproductive.. and a boy toy would have to cheat on her just to become fathers.. so women are bigger fools than males.

Well,if you punk on the opposite sex of half your age you're bound for a rude awakening.
I'm sure his wife respects their children as human beings beyond his scope.
Larry King is another example in that no matter how wealthy you are, or talented, or educated, you could be blind, have no love or be a whatever.
