Brooke White: Former "Idol" Returns to the Stage
"American Idol" fans weren't only tough on contestants Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens, who were sent packing Wednesday. They were also very critical of former "Idol" contestant Brooke White.
The good-natured blonde, who wore her heart on her sleeve during season seven, made her comeback during last night's final results show, but her performance wasn't as promising as some would have hoped.
Season 9 Contestants
The "Idol" Finale
Keeping with the Elvis Presley theme of the show, White sang, "If I Can Dream" with former "Nashville Star" contestant/underwear model Justin Gaston, who reportedly dated singer-actress Miley Cyrus.
Some say White shouldn't have done a duet because the two seemed off-key.
"Brooke tries valiantly to save the song, but Justin is, well, horrible," the Houston Chronicle reports. "He completely throws her off even as she tries to pick up the pieces. Why does this guy keep getting chances?"
White and Gaston's duet may have suffered when compared to a strong performance from last season's "Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert. The glam rocker performed his song "Whataya Want From Me." He even brought lasers to the Nokia Theater, which "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest pointed out never happened before.
The remaining finalists include: Crystal Bowersox, 24, of Toledo, Ohio; Lee Dewyze, 24, of Mount Prospect, Ill.; Aaron Kelly, 17, of Sonestown, Pa.; Siobhan Magnus, 20, of Marstons Mills, Mass.; Casey James, 27, of Fort Worth, Texas; and Tim Urban, 20, of Duncansville, Texas.
Next week, the top seven "Idol" hopefuls will take on inspirational songs.
