Warrants Issued for Randy Quaid and His Wife

Randy Quaid and his wife are once again wanted by authorities.

The couple failed to show up for a court appearance in Santa Barbara on Monday on charges they defrauded an innkeeper. Senior Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter says they also didn't show up when their case was again called on Tuesday.

Arrest warrants have been repeatedly sought and later quashed for the Quaids, who were charged last year with failing to pay a $10,000 hotel bill.

They pleaded not guilty in December and were released on $40,000 bail. Carter says that bail has now been forfeited.

A phone message for the Quaids' attorney, Robert Sanger, was not returned Tuesday.

Randy Quaid has appeared in several films, including "Independence Day" and "National Lampoon's Vacation."

to get a $40K bond one puts up 10% or $4K.

the bondsman is stuck for the rest.

that's how Dog the Bounty Hunter makes his living.

They sacrifice $40,000 in bail over a $10,000 dispute and earn charges in the process?

Looney tunes.....

Once arrested, they will go straight to jail. There is no bondsman option the second time. Hotels are never wrong. Cities get their taxes from them, and believe me - $10k brings a lot of taxes, and they will want it.

Must be nice to be able to pay $40k instead of $10k. Is that the end of it or are they going to be cited for not showing up in addition to what they already paid. I usually don't consider this stuff to be my business at all, but seems to be a definite case of Hollywood couples behaving badly.
