Dennis Hopper Dying, Attorney Says

(AP)  Dennis Hopper is terminally ill and unable to undergo chemotherapy as he battles prostate cancer, his attorney wrote in a court filing.

Attorney Joseph Mannis wrote about the "Easy Rider" star's grave condition in a declaration filed Wednesday asserting the actor cannot be questioned by his wife's attorneys in a deposition.

The prognosis contradicts previous filings in the divorce proceedings that were bullish about Hopper's recovery chances.

Hopper, 73, and his wife, Victoria, have been locked in a bitter feud since the actor, director and artist filed to end the couple's nearly 14-year marriage in January.

He weighs barely 100 pounds and was described by his physician Dr. David Agus in the court filing as extremely weak and unable to carry on long conversations.

Agus states that undergoing a deposition "could actually threaten his ability to survive his current health crisis."

The doctor added, however, that he approved an appearance Friday by Hopper to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame because it is likely to be a positive experience.

A phone message seeking comment from Victoria Hopper's attorney, Sorrell Trope, was not immediately returned. Mannis did not return a call seeking further comment.

Hopper filed a declaration last month saying he was undergoing promising chemotherapy treatments and remained hopeful "that this treatment will be successful so that I may soon resume the full enjoyment of my life and work."

Dennis and Victoria Hopper have agreed to stay 10 feet away from each other while the divorce is ongoing. She has stated in court filings that Hopper filed for divorce to cut her out of her inheritance, a claim the actor has denied.

The case is scheduled for a court hearing on April 5.

There are several legitimate cures for the type of cancer Dennis Hopper is dying from. (1) He could be flown to Rome to undergo treatment at the cancer clinic of Dr. Tulio Simoncini who has been curing cancer for over thirty years (cancerfungus.com). The usual cure takes 48 days although, because his cancer is so far along, his cure might take slightly longer. It has no unpleasant side effects and the cure rate is 90%. (2) He could go to PhoenixTears.com and learn how to make and use marijuana oil to cure his cancer. It seems to be a sure cure but could take longer than the above, and time seems to be of the essence in his case. (3) He could mix sodium bicarbonate and genuine maple syrup together, cook them for five minutes and begin taking the mixture (three to one) immediately. There is more information on the Internet concerning all of these approaches and more which might be even more effective. If it were me, I would fly to Rome and take all three cures simultaneously. The cancer would not have the slightest chance of killing me. The only thing I would not do is use chemotherapy and radiation because they were used on the 528,000 Americans who died of cancer last year. I might use surgery in certain propitious circumstances but only if absolutely necessary. Had Mr. Hopper taken this approach in the beginning, he would be in perfect health today rather than waiting to die.

I am very saddened by the news of Dennis Hoppers cancer prognosis. Cancer is a devastating disease and my heartfelt prayers go out to Mr. Hopper and those close to him. I just lost my Dad to Lung Cancer on February 10, 2010 after a courageous 18 month battle during which time I took a hiatus from working to devote all my attention to being Dad's primary caretaker. On a positive note, the realization of his cancer created an atmosphere where each and every day (and moment) took on a greater importance than ever before. In this, I got closer to Dad than I ever would have otherwise. Even though not a minute goes by that I don't miss him terribly, I take comfort in knowing that he is with God and painfree. He's found eternal peace and happiness and I look forward to when I will meet him again in Heaven.

God Bless you Dennis. You are my favorite actor and so very loved by millions around the world~ Take Care.

Yours affectionately,
Julie O.

"Dennis Hopper is my hero, I've followed his career since Giant, way back in the day, and I love him."

I believe that was Rock Hudson in Giant, not Dennis Hopper.

I recall Dennis Hopper's great role as the villain in "Speed".

This is pretty good too:

Dennis Hopper is my hero, I've followed his career since Giant, way back in the day, and I love him.
But he is my hero because he quit drinking! I thought if he, of all people, with his talent and wildness and zest for life, then I, a mere mortal, can too. This June I will be 12 years sober, thanks to his shining example. The more you know about Dennis Hopper, the more amazed one is, I really hope he pulls thru this, so many men have, I just hope, this time he is the lucky one.

Mr.Hopper is a hero to a generation of the free.
His life is more than the sum of his experiences,
this is why he is destined to be remembered in
Hollywood history, and in political science.

I'd just like to say thanks to Mr Hopper for your part in making the world a better place.
Ride easy....Ride free...smoke 2 for me when you get there.
