Drugmaker: Help Us Find Stolen Drugs

By
CBSNews

(AP)  Eli Lilly and Co. is asking the public for help in spotting $75 million worth of stolen prescription drugs.

The Indianapolis-based drugmaker also is warning consumers to watch for tampering on products that might indicate they were stolen.

Thieves broke into the company's Enfield warehouse early Sunday. They scaled an exterior wall, cut through the ceiling, rappelled inside on a rope and disabled security alarms.

The company says they stole antidepressants, anti-psychotic and hyperactivity drugs, bipolar depression medication, a blood thinner, and cancer treatments.

Enfield Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said Friday that detectives are reviewing surveillance video. The FBI is also investigating.

I would almost bet it's an inside job designed to drive up the cost of drugs.

Pharma is so corrupt, this could be insurance fraud.

Are you kidding me?

They should have have their own theft and recovery operations---- with all the money they have. They don't want to help us. I agree with some of the other folks, they are going to lose $74m in profits. Then pass the cost on to the users.

Also, where are there insurance companies?

I see an increase in drug costs shortly, Eli Lilly is not going to lose $75 million. The customers will have to make up for their loss.

Gee, I think you mean Rush don't you?

Of course you conveniently ignore the multiple Hollywood deaths in the past few years - all from prescription drugs magically.

I think you should look around Hollywood - too many recent deaths in those people. They are getting desperate with the recent Haim ring being shut down. Doctors no longer will prescribe multiple drugs and drug stores now ask questions about why a movie star or singer needs 47 different pain killers prescribed.

Must be a B---- being a liberal jerk hum grim tim?
