The estate of Michael Jackson has landed the late King of Pop the biggest recording deal in history: a $200 million guaranteed contract with Sony Music Entertainment for 10 projects over seven years, according to a person familiar with the deal.

The record-breaking contract through 2017 could be worth up to $250 million if certain conditions are met. One of the albums will be of never-before-released Jackson recordings that will come out in November, the person said.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the official announcement is expected Tuesday.

Future projects may also include a DVD compilation of videos and a re-release of "Off the Wall," Jackson's fifth studio album, which first came out in 1979, accompanied by some unreleased material. Before his sudden death in June at age 50, the pop star had wanted to re-issue the album, people familiar with the deal said.

One of the projects already counted in the contract was the two-disc album that accompanied "This Is It," the film based on footage of concert rehearsals for what was to have been Jackson's comeback at London's O2 arena.

Including the more than 5 million copies of that special release, Jackson has sold some 31 million albums since his death in June, about two-thirds of them outside the United States.

"During his life, Michael's contracts set the standard for the industry," said John Branca, the co-administrator of the Jackson estate, in a statement prepared for release Tuesday. "By all objective criteria, this agreement with Sony Music demonstrates the lasting power of Michael's music by exceeding all previous industry benchmarks."

Rob Stringer, chairman of Sony Music's Columbia Epic Label Group, said in prepared remarks, "We're dedicated to protecting this icon's legacy and we're thrilled that we can continue to bring his music to the world for the foreseeable future."

People never cease to amaze me in these blogs. Even in death MJ is capable of generating more money than the detractors in this blog ever dreamed of. As for the child molestation accusations, I think the verdict was innocent in the trial. Get a life people.

So, are the people who contribute to the Catholic Church is morally lacking?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No, because not all priests are immoral. A lot of their contributions go for good causes. mj was a pedophile and by himself in his immoral activities. The money earned from his music sales is dirty money used to immortalize his filthy acts with children and fatten the accounts of the jackson clan.

Shame on the Jackson family! Once more they are using Michael for their own gain! He has been used by
them since a very young child, and it does not stop even with his death. They are a pack of vultures!

Shame on the Jackson Family for landing a deal for more than $200 milion dollars that will no doubt go towards helping to pay for the enomous debt and the care of the three children of their deceased brother. Those Jacksons are so much more greedier than the rest of us!!

Because we all know that if we were offered such a deal we would turn down that $200 million dollar record deal, right?

Low in the morals? Aren't you all pompous commenting on the morality of people you don't know? Of course you are, you speak for god.

And, how is what music you listen to a moral issue in the first place?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everyone knows mj was a pedophile, so if they support his music , they support his "fantasy" with children.

We now know what they really are, a bunch of parasites. How about
giving his fans something that wont cost them a arm and a leg for all
the years of support they have given the Jacksons....i dont think so.
Money Money Money......that's all they care for....not the fans.

There are surely vultures out there but if any of you took the time to research and inquire, this deal will bring money to the Jackson children for years to come, NOT his father or his useless brothers, and his music will live on. I don't trust Sony, EPIC, AEG or the brothers; so much crap has come out since he died, it's hard to know which site, comment, blog to believe; I'm just looking forward to more MJ music. That is until the lowlife attorneys and medialoid types sue the estate, similar to Allgood Entertainment that filed a $40,000,000 suit against Michael the same month he died. Talk about blood suckers. Let's hope the money stays where it belongs, with the kids and with his mother and his musical legacy lives on.
