U.S. Net Worth Up for 3rd Straight Quarter

By
CBSNews
(AP)  American households saw their wealth increase at the end of last year, mainly because the healing economy boosted stock portfolios.

The Federal Reserve says household net worth rose 1.3 percent in the fourth quarter to $54.2 trillion. It marked the third straight quarter of gains. Net worth had risen 4.5 percent in the second quarter of 2009 and an even stronger 5.5 percent in the third quarter.

Net worth is the value of assets such as homes, checking accounts and investments minus debts like mortgages and credit cards.

Even with the gain, Americans' net worth would have to rise an additional 21 percent to get back to its pre-recession peak of $65.9 trillion. That shows the vast loss of wealth people have suffered from the worst downturn since the 1930s.

What, the sky is not falling? Commercials here in Arizona have that the current administration is running the country into the ground. Got all these good folks in the state running around with Lipton on the mind with Mccain and Kyl leading the charge of anarchy!

I cannot wait to see what will it be next. Those putos had a never to leave me a voicemail to participate in a town-hall meeting recently regarding healthcare. If I had the time to go I would be one of those citizens they would have to escort out. Damn Liars!

They said nothing when ole Dubba and Darth were running things into the ground. I just cant believe that people are that naive and cannot see what is really going on.

Republicans had no answer for healthcare until Democrats had a plan. Now they scare the elderly and the "White folks" of this country that we are now under Socialism and we need to revolution. Get angry that we still have young men and women fighting a war in Afghanistan and Iraq, get mad that they come home losing limbs and their mind and can't get decent healthcare to get well. I don't see many rallying around the flag on that one!

This is terrible news for the Republicans.

Honestly the KKKONS are against spending money the People. They are all for spending money for killing people overseas and for more welfare and entitlements for the big corporations. What is wrong with them?

By the way, Saturday March 13th is the kickoff day for the Coffee Party Movement. Get involved.

No thank you. Coffee growing takes up valuable land that could be used to grow cocoa plants that one day your kids will snort. If you burn yourself on the coffee you can always sue. That is the thing liberals do best isn't it?
