"JihadJane" Charged With Terror Recruiting

CBSNews
(AP)  A suburban Philadelphia woman "desperate to do something" to help suffering Muslims has been charged with using the Internet to recruit jihadist fighters and help terrorists overseas, even agreeing to move to Europe to try to kill someone, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Authorities said the case shows how terror groups are looking to recruit Americans - even suburban women - to carry out their goals.

A federal indictment charges that Colleen R. LaRose agreed to kill a Swedish citizen on orders from the unnamed terrorists and traveled to Europe to carry out the killing. It doesn't say whether the Swede was killed, but LaRose was not charged with murder.

U.S. Attorney Michael Levy told The Associated Press the indictment doesn't link LaRose, a U.S. citizen who moved to Europe in August 2009, to any organized terror groups.

Authorities describe LaRose as in her 40s and from Montgomery County. They say she called herself JihadJane in a YouTube video in which she said she was "desperate to do something somehow to help" ease the suffering of Muslims. According to the indictment, she agreed to obtain residency in a European country and marry one of the terrorists to enable him to live there.

"Today's indictment, which alleges that a woman from suburban America agreed to carry out murder overseas and to provide material support to terrorists, underscores the evolving nature of the threat we face," said David Kris, assistant attorney general for national security.

LaRose also agreed to provide her co-conspirators in Asia and Europe financial and passport help, the indictment charged.

LaRose has been in federal custody since her Oct. 15 arrest in Philadelphia, authorities said. She had an initial court appearance the next day but didn't enter a plea. The two federal public defenders representing her did not immediately return telephone messages seeking comment Tuesday.

I wonder if she waas on medication for depression. One article said she tried to commit suicide in 2005 so maybe she went on antidepressants then.

The Physicians Desk Reference states that SSRI antidepressants and all antidepressants can cause mania, psychosis, abnormal thinking, paranoia, hostility, etc. These side effects can also appear during withdrawal. Also, these adverse reactions are not listed as Rare but are listed as either Frequent or Infrequent.

Go to www.SSRIstories.com where there are over 3,600 cases, with the full media article available, involving bizarre murders, suicides, school shootings/incidents [53 of these] and murder-suicides - all of which involve SSRI antidepressants like Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, etc, . The media article usually tells which SSRI antidepressant the perpetrator was taking or had been using.

That's real compassion for you in action, she's willing to murder a Swede in order to help ease the suffering Muslims... a real saint eh?
Actually why is this a story today if she's been in custody since October 15th?

Yeah.

How many Afghans and Iraqis were involved in 9/11? A handful/

How many Afghans and Iraqis have died protecting their country against the U.S. and British invasion and occupation of these countries?

Will this religious-based vengence (from both sides) go on forever?

infantryman1968, I have had many discussions with the person and, although I don't always agree with him, I find him to be an intelligent person who, like most intelligent beings, has an opinion. He has NEVER acted like you and pretended that unless I agree with him, I'm not an American. It's just a shame YOU don't learn for him and the rest of the intelligent people you meet every day.

Thats why he works for the Communications and Propagana Arm of Al-Quida. He was probably selected for that because of his intelect instead of being a foot soldier in Iraq or Afghanistan. His job is to ensure the message of Jihad through revolution get out. The problem is his Revolution is much different than yours. These sites are covered with those people.

Be careful.

Are you mad that Jihad Jane got busted?

So why did the Al-Queida leadership place you in communications and propaganda instead as a foot soldier fighing in Iraq or Afghanistan?

Because of the free education you received from the West?

Great! Another nut to tie up our courts. These people just keep costing the taxpayers money. How much is spent on cases like this? A bullet is so much cheaper.
------------------
.... and a rope is even cheaper, because you can use it time and time again, and a gas chamber is cheaper still, because you can kill hundreds of "these people" at the same time. Or you can make them work until they die and then you can actually make a profit! That's the 'American Way' isn't it?

skyk-2009 - ..... then apparently you're not even as smart as a brain-damaged dog! It was askagain who said it, not me. ..... and if that was your only response to what I said, then your morals are no more advanced than your brain!

The cartoons are nothing. The biggest Insult to the terrorist is the new book published by **********; "How Fatima Started Islam" by Noor Barack. Did you know that Mohammad, who was always drunk, was a child molesting, perverted, cowardly fool who could not even run his business Mohammad's Saloon & Brothel right. He raped his 11 year old daughter Fatima before turning her out to the brothel, but she got her revenge against the camel loving (in every sense of the word) moron by exposing him
