Blushing Simon Cowell Talks of Wedding

(CBS)  Simon Cowell blushing and stammering? Yes, and he all but confirmed the rumor that has been swirling around him for weeks - he plans to wed makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy.

That is what happened Monday night when Cowell, the grumpy "American Idol" judge, was Jay Leno's guest on "The Tonight Show."

After discussing his work on "Idol" and who might replace him on the judge's panel when he leaves the show after this season, Leno turned the topic to love and marriage.

Cowell has been coy about the engagement rumors that arose as few weeks ago when Hussainy was first seen sporting a large diamond on her left hand. His publicist only answered questions by saying Cowell does not discuss his privat life.

"Well, I do have somebody in my life now, Jay, yes," Cowell said when asked directly about an engagement. "And I kind of made a decision this year to make somebody happy."

Cowell told Leno he got the ring in London and admitted it was a big one. As for a wedding date, the "American Idol" judge put that sometime in the next 10 years.

About his plans for children, Simon said, "I'm kind of torn because I'm a bit too old to have kids but then I think it would be awesome to have a lot of mes running around."

During the interview, Leno brought Hussainy on stage where she got a quick kiss from Cowell and sat holding hands with him for a while.
