This "charity" is a scam. I worked there and saw that they continued to ask for money over and over again but spent little of it on the children. In fact for every $10 that a donor sacraficed and sent in FTC will spend over $7 of it on direct mail, tv and overhead!

I was employed at Feed The Children and have many friends still employed there. I can tell you that CBS news report is extremely accurate. The federal court system should put the charity into recievership and conduct a forensic audit.

I have attended churches over the years, and some do teach that we don't give charity to someone without demanding the right to teach them about Christ. I don't know if that's an ethical way to give charity, but it does happen.

I am allowed to write to my family in Honduras, but they asked me not to send physical gifts, that they would rather have money. That sent up a red flag. They basically told me I could use my money better by sponsoring another child, or supporting donations of farm equipment, livestock and such. In other words, send more cash. I don't mind sending more cash, but it just didn't feel right that they would ask for the gifts to stop.

It would be good for someone with talent for web design to begin a site where givers can post pix and data about their kids. Wouldn't it be a riot if numerous pictures came up the same, but with different names and nationalities?? Like they're getting 5000 people donating to one kid. A riot!

How many children died while these evil people took their food from them? We'll never know, but Allah, God almighty does, and great punishment will follow, I pray. Starting with new laws, banning the use of staving children for profit.

I myself felt a victim, supporting a child in Kenya in 2008, through Child Fund (formerly Christian Children's Fund) I was told I could not "write directly to my child because it would confuse the child" though some of his ten siblings could read and write. When I asked them to define how a letter from me could "Confuse" my child, they couldn't.
What were they hiding? was the question nagging me.

When I found his picture still on their site as though no one was sponsoring him, I called to ask them why it was still there. As I sat looking at it, they insisted I was wrong, "The picture you're looking at is not your child!" the women staff member insistent, though IT WAS!
I looked at the picture of him on my desk, and the one on their site, it WAS the same! He was even wearing the same shirt as the picture I kept on my desk.It was him.

I did some soul searching after that day, and called a staff member that I had came to know well. I was told my sponsored child's Mother never got the Beautiful silk scarf I had sent her for Christmas, nor the jewelry, nor the money for the entire family. (525.00 as a added gift) In fact it was confided to me, they never got many gifts I had sent, and said if anyone questioned this, they were told to continue blaming it on the government. I was also told by this decent young staff member that Child Fund (former Christian Children Fund) was receiving 5,240.00 (us dollars)a month for my sponsored child and his ten siblings.

When I realized I was supporting some one other than this child and his family (his family through volunteered gifts I sent), I stopped support. Which was difficult for me. To this day I still think of them often. When my letters to this child and his family went unanswered, I was told by office staff at Children's Fund that I was "Not allowed to contact the child unless I was supporting him"

It feels like they 'sold' this child to me as long as I sent them money!

President Obama and his Mother saw the suffering first hand when he was young and they lived in Indonesia. His Mother and him wanted to give all they had to the beggars. Well....now look who's able to help them, from a compassionate little boy with his Mother in Indonesia to the President of United States!

All of us must contact out congress and demand laws be brought into place to stop these corrupted 'evil doers' who sell children. john 3: 20,21

well there is a lot more to tell, being involved with them for five years. they all about profit the way i see it. the warehouse in elkhart is full of food you can not have, unless you buy it. thats right the food they already bought with donations they dont just give it for free, your church or pantry or even your local food bank has to pay for it. NOTHING IS FREE WHEN IT COMES TO FEED THE CHILDREN. they turned away so many people in need of food, that came to that building for need of help. when i got there there was two semi loads of dry-milk they would not give it away, it just sat there and sat there 3 yrs later FTC took it off the books, so now we did not have to inventory it anymore and the auditors would not question it. as of jan. 2008 all 48 to 60 skids of dried milk was still sitting in the basement of that old bayer building in elkhart, in. that bilding turned into a place where company could dump off their trash, junk, unsellables, were talking about broken goods , toys, outdated equipment, etc. all for a tax right off. there is several floors in the building of just books, books that are so out dated when they arrived they already had a inch of dust on top of the skids from sitting for years. so much was wasted. so much food that just sat there, worried about expiration dates, well they sat for so long (several months)befor they deceided to give it away or pack in food boxes, it was to late it expired....so we had to throw it away into the dumpsters. i'm talking about several semi loads of mac-n-cheese, really now have you ever heard of mac-n-cheese going bad. well i can go on and on. if you are going to donate do it to your in town, local charities.
