"Geezer Bandit" Strikes 6th San Diego Bank

(CBS/AP)  The FBI says the so-called "Geezer Bandit" has struck again in San Diego.

The FBI says a frail, elderly man gave a clerk a note demanding money and pulled a handgun Wednesday at San Diego National Bank. He left with an unspecified amount of cash.

(Watch the report CBS News affiliate KFMB-TV in San Diego filed on this story below)

FBI officials say they believe the man, who wore a white hooded sweat shirt and white ball cap, is the same man who has robbed five other banks in La Jolla, Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego and Santee since August.

Law enforcement officials are offering $16,000 in rewards for information that leads to his arrest and conviction.

People find this 'amusing' ??? ... I hope they catch him and put him in prison.. his age or the fact that he 'may have lost his retirement' or 'the government is doing something to him' is a ridiculous excuse.

And to all those who are constantly harping on the US Government, go live in another country (pleeeaaazzzzze) and see how you like it already!

Actually, he is a retired bank president collecting his bonus. It just looks bad when caught on video.

I thing he's going for the oldest person committing consecutive bank robberies in The Guinness Book of World Records. Good luck Jesse.

He has nothing to lose, just as others have said, and that's exactly why nobody should tackle him. He could easily pull the trigger (assuming, as we must, that the gun is loaded) and kill someone. There is no job or amount of money losing your life over. So far he hasn't physically hurt anybody - best to keep it that way.

More the likely this is a retired man who has watched this ocuntry find multiple ways of taking everything he worked for

This is the future for many Ameircans, because this is what corporate America has done to us.

I hope he never gets caught and becomes a full blown folk hero to the working class who are completley fed up with the hand being dealt

I Hope he rots in prison. That's a nice assumption, that he's some kind of Robin Hood. Hogwash. I can read intention and background into this guy just as surely as you can, and just as acurately, which means not very. The fact is he's a crook, stealing money from hard working Americans. How do you figure he's some kind of hero? He's taking your money. The fact that he's old is irrelevant.

He's probably one of the many who's retirement savings was wiped out. He doesn't have to be destitute, just angry.
As for the guards. The bank is insured, it's not worth the risk to tackle an armed robber regardless of age. In fact he's probably trained not to. At least as long as no one is in threat of imminent harm.
