Rush Limbaugh Named Miss America Judge

By
CBSNews
(AP)  Organizers say the panel of judges for the 2010 Miss America pageant include radio host Rush Limbaugh, actress Vivica Fox and former Olympian Shawn Johnson.

Other judges for the Saturday pageant in Las Vegas are Miss America 2002 Katie Harman and musician Dave Koz.

Organizers say the judges were picked because they are distinguished in various fields, including entertainment, business and the arts.

The pageant hosted by Extra host Mario Lopez will crown its 2010 winner on Saturday night at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. Lopez is hosting for the third time.

The show will air live on cable network TLC.

Oh wow, just what they need. A big fat fart judging women he doesn't respect! What are these people thinking? The organizers must be desperate for publicity.

"Creepy" doesn't begin to describe this. To contemplate this stogie-chomping, sweating, leering, bloviating, drug-addled, thrice-married, self-absorbed, paragon of manliness, gazing longingly at the lithe figures of the Miss America wannabes as they jiggle their way across the stage, is just about as lurid and prurient as it gets.

Although I am no Rush Limbaugh fan, his selection to be a judge is certainly better than that biased little germ Perez Hilton, who was only trying to skewer the contest results in California by pushing his own agenda.

OK normally I try to ignore the existence of Rush Limbaugh because I just personally don't like him, but I had to click on this one. WHAT A RIOT!

Obviously the Miss America pageant, being totally irrelevant to today's world, is trying to gain ratings via political controversy. First Perez Hilton, now Rush Limbaugh - clearly the women who are competing are nothing but props for the free-for-all that is to be the real heart of the show.

Is there any entertainment left in America that is not just one more skirmish in the Culture Wars?

...hey anyone think there'll be a replay of the wildly successful Carrie Prejean debacle?

How many think Rush is going to get into a big ole row with some pretty politically liberal lady (who will end up totally villainized by the right)?

The Miss America pageant has just marginalized itself beyond all redemption. "Distinguished", in this instance, is synonymous with "infamous", and I think it might well come back and bite the pageant folks where it hurts.

Perhaps the committee, before choosing this self-serving windbag, should have played back his comments about Eliz. Edwards, wherein he said that she talks too much and wondered aloud "Maybe if she had used her mouth for something other than talking", her husband might not have had the affair.Or maybe the statements that "no one wants to watch female athletes" (in the Olympics).Or even on the morning after Sarah Palin was chosen as McCain's running mate "I can tell you what this is". It's all about "babies and Jesus"...that was before he became a "fan" And that's not even counting his deriding as "Feminazis" (he invented the term) women who dare to run for office , speak up or try for jobs formerly held by men.
There is both video and audio backing these up-you have only to look.If they wanted someone of this caliber with the same amount of respect for women, I'm sure they could have gotten Charlie Sheen or the aforesaid John Edwards.
