(AP)  The online dating service eHarmony has agreed to settle a California lawsuit that claimed it discriminated against homosexuals.

Under a proposed settlement filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, eHarmony will link its straight and gay Web sites and allow people to use both without paying double fees.

Plaintiff's attorney Todd Schneider says the company also agreed to pay about $500,000 to an estimated 150 Californians to settle the class-action suit, plus around $1.5 million in court and attorney's fees.

The company didn't admit any wrongdoing.

A judge must approve the settlement. A court date is scheduled for Feb. 3.

I could care less about any court ruling. What I do share an interest in is moving forward. Progession. Yeah here in America thats what we strive to do, progress. Those people who play the role of opposition to logical progress, whether it be those who silenced women on there rights, or Jim Crow and the gang hanging on to a dying hope of segragation, those people hold us back. Those people cannot separate church and state. Most of all, those people are looked back on in history as ignorant! There is no other term to describe it so simply, perfectly. As far as the 2Mil... well hey sometimes when you make the wrong choice you pay a price. Why should any of you care about the money anyways? Its not like it was going to go back in your pocket. Eharmony is not know for its philonthropic ways. Im sure no poor orphans are going to sleep hungry as a result.

The lawsuit is beyond stupid this is a place where straight people look for the love of their life,
we pay for our privacy, we don't want to start being harassed for lesbians or gays
we have rights too, but it looks like gay and lesbian step on every one of our rights
is a lot of gay or lesbian places for dating why they don't go to those,
instead of trying to get to eharmony...

if eharmony sing the agreement with them is the end of the history

I'M CANCELING MY MEMBERSHIP... AND I HOPE MORE PEOPLE DO THE SAME!

first of all...."But it is okay, for "gays" to force their unnatural lifestyle/agenda on the rest of hetersexual people in the classrooms,in the workplace--men sexually harassing men; from our pulpits --because it is "their right"."... how are gays forcing "unnatural lifestyles" on "straight" people??? Who are YOU to say its unnatural? how are gays forcing it? we just want to be recognized as equal. I'm sure every gay person in this world wakes up one day and says.." I want to be gay today especially because i love getting all the hate from people who do not understand"(notice my sarcasim).. I think not!!!!Gays are Gay because we wake up and its natural to us, just as being straight is natural to you.
AS for the lawsuit... I agree it seems a bit too much money to sue for... suing for the right to have it equal on the site is enough. But to bash gays in general is not the american way, where we ALL should be treated equal.

"Separate but equal" is wrong, and the supreme court so noted this long ago. However, if all the gay rights group could have just asked for attorney's fees and that eharmony change its websites' format. The fact that someone is allowed to hide behind their civil rights while extorting money from others (regardless of whether they are pompous, self-righteous religionists) is what is truly sickening about legal system and our society. Perhaps the gay activists will donate all their money to the poor wretched souls left homeless and hungry in Haiti.... (last line spoken with pronounced sarcastic tone)

This lawsuit is beyond sad and stupid. Now the question is how can somebody claim the $4,000.00 in damages if they couldn't use the site to be damaged?

Now I have to leave you while I go to the car dealership and sue them for not selling ice cream.

Yes, in Canada if you even openly speak against homosexuality it is consider a "hate crime". But it is okay, for "gays" to force their unnatural lifestyle/agenda on the rest of hetersexual people in the classrooms,in the workplace--men sexually harassing men; from our pulpits --because it is "their right".

Most Americans don't realize that the Canadian liberal party (who else) pulled a dirty trick by ramming thru a secret gay marriage bill after a house sitting when the opposing party members had gone home for the day. Again, it was lobbying and pressure from the gays to sneak the bill thru legislature knowing full well that a referendum would have put them back in the closet. Democracy denied for the citizens, but forced in for the wicked.

So equal rights makes you sick ? You are a poor excuse for an American.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Equal rights or Forcing it to become right? Its no secret that gay activists have used manipulation, lobbying, bribery, and a host of other devious manners to force their agenda. The correct way would have been through a referendum , the real American way. But of course vermin are renown for sneaking in and damaging the house ( country ) under the guise of darkness (rights). Exposure to their residue , will often result in becoming sick .

More money to promote the unnatural lifestyle/agenda of homosexuality on the rest of our nation. Let's see they force their agenda into our grade, middle, and high-school classes; they force their agenda on many of our historical faith communities; in Canada it is now consider a "hate crime" for people to voice their opinion against
homosexuality..what will be next??? Let's read Romans 1:24-33

When you pledge "liberty and justice for all" with tears in your eyes, you have to live it. There are millions and millions of gay Americans. Their money is just as good as anyone else's. Why should a commercial business like eHarmony get away with this ? Every American should be happy that another discriminator has been dealt with.
