Leno to Oprah: I Haven't Spoken to Conan

(AP)  Jay Leno tells Oprah Winfrey that he hasn't spoken to Conan O'Brien throughout the recent contentious negotiations over "The Tonight Show."

In quotes provided Wednesday by Harpo Productions, Leno tells Winfrey that "it didn't seem appropriate" to speak to O'Brien. But Leno says the two comedians might talk when "things cool down."

NBC unseated O'Brien and moved Leno back to the program he had hosted for 17 years. Leno is scheduled to return to "Tonight" on March 1.

In a video previewing "The Oprah Winfrey Show" interview, Leno says: "This whole thing was a huge mess."

Leno's interview is slated to air Thursday.

Harpo Productions made an offer for O'Brien to appear on her show, but it hasn't been confirmed.

Hi everyone, well I saw Oprah, who is the worst person to interview anybody in this whole world, interview my idol Jay. It is just amazing that her show is not cancelled. Oprah is the most boring person in TV, I cannot stand her.Jay is such a nice person, why are they giving him such a hard time. Jay, why did you let that witch Oprah interview you. I am sure there are many who could have done a better job. I saw her interview someone else not long ago and had to change the channel, it bored me so much. But because it was Jay, whom I love dearly as a comedian and entertainer, that I just had to watch it. Oprah, you fixed those numbers about the percentages. I saw comments on another site and every one of them were in favor of Jay. So if he does have oodles of money, it is his business if he wants to work. He didn't put Conan out of a job, Conan did, because he is too foolish and acted like an idiot on his shows. He acted like someone 13 trying to get attention from some of his peers. WE LOVE J, I am a Canadian and everyone loves him up here. GO J GO, don't worry about that Oprah witch, her show is going soon. I don't watch her anymore unless there is someone singing on there. She is a boring Ms. Goody two shoes.
