(AP)  A judge will hear arguments Monday to decide if a Guantanamo Bay detainee's rights were violated when he was held for five years without charges.

Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani, the first Guantanamo Bay prisoner to be prosecuted in a civilian U.S. court, says charges against him should be dismissed because he was not given a speedy trial. He is charged in the August 1998 bombings of two U.S. embassies in Africa. They killed 224 people, including a dozen Americans.

His lawyers say he was arrested in Pakistan on July 24, 2004 and held in secret camps where he was questioned until September 2006, when he was moved to Guantanamo.

Prosecutors say the delay in bringing him to trial was necessary to save lives.

They shouldn't be tried in court, they are war criminals regardless of what anyone says, they are bent in holy jihad, so lets keep it war.
Since these people have no morals, lets give them something to think about. Cut off their woody, (unless of course they are crotch bomber) soak them in pig fat for a day, strap their favorite bomb making materials to their body, put them in a remote area, one where the buzzards and wild animals would clean up the mess and let it go. Time we put the fear in them. Maybe you think this is inhuman, but these people want to kill us. To hell with them.

We should let this guy go free. We should let this guy go free after we padlock a suicide vest to him and then detonate it from a remote location. We should show him the same mercy that the terrorists show other people. Problem solved.

If the prosecutors can PROVE that the delay was necessary.... then try this man. But I bet if I was looking at this, I wouldn't see any reason for delaying the trial of this man for so long, and would say "LET HIM GO! YOU WAITED TOO LONG FOR NO REASON!"
